CHI Pharmaceuticals Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to the fight against malaria as the country continues to bear one-third of the global burden of the disease.

According to a statement, Chief Operating Officer of CHI Pharmaceuticals, Shriram Iyer, said the company was championing advocacy, education, and access to effective treatment to combat the scourge in his address at the World Malaria Day event organised by the National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers in Lagos.

“Malaria continues to be a grave health challenge in Nigeria,” Iyer said. “As a responsible healthcare provider, we believe that educating consumers and engaging fellow healthcare professionals across the value chain is key to reducing this burden and saving lives.”

We recognize the vital role of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) in Nigeria's healthcare system, particularly in the fight against malaria. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to partake in the World Malaria Day event organised by NAPPMED LAGOS.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝘀: 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲

Every year on April 25, the world comes together to shine a spotlight on the fight against malaria. This disease still claims hundreds of thousands of lives annually, especially in vulnerable communities.

Malaria remains one of the biggest health challenges in Nigeria, affecting millions of lives every year.

World Health Organization (WHO) reminds us that ending malaria is not just a dream, it is a responsibility we all share. It calls for renewed investment, innovation, and grassroots action to eliminate malaria for good.
