A twelve-year-old boy, returning from school, was struck by a car and rushed to the nearest hospital. . Despite effort made to save him, the doctor demanded a deposit of fifty thousand before treatment could proceed. The mother tried to reach the father for financial assistance, but he was unreachable, and the driver responsible for the hit and run vanished.

While awaiting the father's arrival, the son passed away. The mother, devastated at losing her only child, collapsed in anguish. It was then that something unexpected happened. The nurses came to her aid, trying to wake her and her wrapper fell off in her distress, something fluttered to the ground—a paper form. Amongst it, thousands of naira notes spilled out. Upon counting, they realized the total sum was seventy-two thousand naira, enough to save her son's life. Jesus Christ!!!

In a scene of collective disbelief and anger, the crowd gathered, demanding answers. How could she let her son die when she had more than enough to save him?

Some ladies do believe that all men are thesame, men are scum, with the perception that marriage is not for them. A married woman with seventeen years of experience was with her friends advising a newly wedded friend saying: Men will always be men, your husband is only yours when you're with him. Once he leaves the house, he belongs to someone else. Don't give your all to him sweet heart, don't trust a man so you can leave long. The younger woman responded, "My husband would give me a reason not to trust him first. Why do you speak so negatively about your husbands,?why are you so bittered about men? You once loved these men right, what changed? Did you ignore the signs? Yes, he promised to change after the wedding, but it's easier said than done. How can someone who beats you with every mistakes be expected to change all of a sudden? recently, I heard your husband pleading for you to accompany him to couples function, but you turned him down with lame excuses. What if he calls one of his female friends to cover up as his wife and maybe got tipsy, one thing Leeds to another and he finds that's companion he has been missing for seventeen years, would he still look your way? Happiness is paramount. Sometimes we're the cause of our problem. While some are busy building relationships, trying to make it work others are making excuses and discouraging some naive fellows who might fall victim to failed marriage and loss their happy home. Remember, wisdom doesn't always come with age, so be cautious, so strive for the best and stay positive.

Today, I embarked on a journey to seek people's opinion on this: between loving someone and being loved by them, whom should one choose as a life partner? preferences vary, when you love your to impress and when your loved, its the opposite. Many tends to pursue those they love believing in the allure of nature, facial looks and wealth, etc. I was a true believer of going for who you love until someone ruled that idea saying, "Marriage is not friendship; be cautious." He continued, "Death took away the woman I cherished , but since we had no child, I decided to remarry. This lasted for few years, not easy getting pass the memories of my late wife. but since I had to do things right, I fell in love again. We began our life together. However, living with her left me feeling lonelier than when I was alone. Despite providing for the family, I found myself doing household chores, running errands, and even going to the market for food items, only to be denied a share of the food and kept at a distance. She would even beat me, and if I dared to complain to her parents, she would banish me from the house, leaving me to sleep in the cold passage, even in my sixties. I became a stranger in my own home, with depression as my companion, fearful of what each new day might bring. This persisted for years until I had no choice but to relocate to the village. I may call my encounter unfortunate, but I wish I had married someone who loved me back when my first wife passed. She was compassionate, but vanished after I remarried.
Thankfully, fate reunited us later in life. Though we're both older now with two children, we're much happier together. If only I had married her earlier, our children would be much older now than the wasted years with my second wife." He concluded, "not everything that glitters is gold. When considering marriage, seek someone who loves and wishes to build a life with you. This can lead to a longer and happier life, as you'll face challenges together with joy."

My landlord, despite having no son, was blessed with two beautiful daughters. The eldest, a bit of a loner, often had unanswered questions and a lot on her mind. Our chance encounters led to meaningful conversations that seemed to revive her spirits and open her mind to endless possibilities. She was a teacher then, sometimes leaving work early to visit and talk about various topics since she can confide on me, I also played the role of a big brother and best friend.

Life happened, I was unable to renew my rent, contemplating leaving the premises as agreed with my landlord. With much accumulated depth, I felt forced to flee, leaving my belongings behind. Despite several repeated calls, I remained silent, though not intentional,I was hoping to buy time to resolve my situation.

Eventually, I answered, but didn't give her the chance to say much, assuming I knew what she wanted to say. I made a promise to see her sooner, she agreed, hoping it won't take more than a day or two. I was hustling to find funds, but all my efforts proved futile. The plan was to meet and explain my predicament and then know how she's fairing. Deep down, I knew she wanted to say something. However, just as I was procrastinating, I received a call from a friend, the tragic news: my landlord's daughter had passed away.

I was left speechless, couldn't say a word, just picturing every of her act and her voices echoing, realizing that perhaps she had something important to say then. Maybe if I had reached out earlier, she would have leaved. This serves as a reminder to us all that there's no perfect time to show love, care, or attention. The little gift and time spent with your mother, father, and families, might be your last encounter, same as your wife, the least smiles you added to her face could be your last seen .The time to act is now, as tomorrow is never guaranteed. Let's cherish the present moment and make the most of every opportunity to connect with those we care about.

Just as I was lamenting, feeling so sad and empty, crossing the roadside, I observed a deaf and dumb person smiling, and it left me wondering. Despite feeling left behind by my peers and longing for more in life, this unexpected encounter sparked a profound realization within me.

Interacting with him through sign language, he shared with me his secret to life: laughter. His perspective shifted my mindset entirely. He expressed his desire to hear and speak like others but remained hopeful and optimistic, finding joy in the anticipation of that possibility.

His unwavering faith in a brighter future despite his challenges served as a powerful reminder for me. If he could maintain hope for a day when his circumstances might change, then why couldn't I? Though I may not be wealthy, I am healthy, and that alone is a reason to keep striving for better days.

This encounter taught me that hope isn't just a fleeting feeling; it's a force that keeps us going even in the darkest times. We may not always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but as long as we hold onto hope, we can endure any hardship that comes our way. ,love and lust with Kally.
