Strengthening Partnerships for Impact!

Last week, WHARC’s Accounts and Programme Officers joined other UNFPA Implementing Partners at the 4-day UNFPA IP Training in Abuja (22nd – 25th September 2025).

The training focused on:
✅ Strengthening compliance and accountability in programme implementation
✅ Fraud prevention and assurance activities (micro-assessments, spot checks, audits)
✅ Practical use of Quantum Plus for financial and programmatic reporting
✅ Aligning workplans with the UNFPA 9th Country Programme and the 3 Transformative Results (3TRs):

Zero preventable maternal deaths

Zero unmet need for family planning

Zero gender-based violence & harmful practices

For WHARC, this training was a valuable opportunity to enhance capacity, share experiences, and reinforce our commitment to transparency and impactful programming that improves the lives of women, adolescents, and communities across Nigeria.

The final day of training in Ogun State was nothing short of impactful! Organized by the Women's Health and Action Research Centre in collaboration with the UNFPA , the program equipped nurses and midwives with practical skills to manage common health conditions in pregnancy.

To crown it all, participants were proudly awarded certificates of completion, a testament to their commitment to safer motherhood and improved maternal care.

Each trained nurse and midwife is now better positioned to save lives, protect mothers, and strengthen our communities. This is derived from the pre and post test that was conducted
