Feels like a tight band around your head.
👉 Often caused by stress, lack of sleep, or worry.
🔹 Migraine
Severe, throbbing pain (usually one side of the head).
👉 May come with nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light and sound.
🔹 Sinus Headache
Pain around your forehead, eyes, and cheeks.
👉 Linked to catarrh, cold, or sinus infection.
🔹 Cluster Headache
Sharp, intense pain around one eye.
👉 Comes suddenly and may happen at the same time daily.

A lot of women are taking birth control pills…
But very few truly understand how they work. 💊🤔
Let’s talk about it honestly.
Birth control pills are used to prevent pregnancy by controlling hormones in the body. When taken correctly, they are very effective.
But here’s what many people don’t know 👇
⚠️ Missing even ONE pill can reduce its effectiveness
⚠️ Taking it at different times daily can affect how well it works
⚠️ It does NOT protect against infections
💡 Some common side effects:
Nausea
Weight changes
Mood swings
Breast tenderness
In rare cases, it may increase the risk of Blood Clots, especially in smokers or women above 35.
😳 Important truth: Some women start using birth control pills just because a friend recommended it.
That’s risky.
Your body is different. What works for one person may not work for you.
❤️ Nurse Margaret Tip: Before starting any birth control method: 👉 Talk to a qualified health professional
👉 Know your medical history
👉 Choose what is safest for YOU
💬 Let’s talk: Have you ever used birth control pills before, or are you considering it?

Why are you calling me mama?”
That was the question an elderly woman asked her own daughter.
Dementia is one of the most heartbreaking conditions a family can experience. It doesn’t just affect memory — it slowly changes the way a person understands the world.
A mother who once remembered every little detail about her children…
A father who once guided the entire family…
One day they begin to forget.
They may forget names.
They may forget faces.
Sometimes they may even forget who they are.
But here is the painful truth many people don’t realize:
Even when memory fades, emotions remain.
A person living with dementia may not remember your name, but they can still feel your kindness… your patience… your love.
So when you see someone with dementia repeating questions, getting confused, or behaving differently, remember this:
Their brain is fighting a battle they did not choose.
Instead of frustration, give them patience.
Instead of anger, give them understanding.
Instead of silence, give them compassion.
Because one day, it could be someone we love.
Have you ever seen or cared for someone living with dementia? What was your experience like?

Oxytocin is a medication commonly used in maternity care to stimulate uterine contractions. It is a synthetic version of the natural hormone produced by the brain (from the pituitary gland).
It plays an important role during labor and after childbirth.
What Oxytocin Is Used For
🩺 1. Inducing labor
Doctors or midwives may give oxytocin to start labor when a pregnant woman is overdue or when continuing the pregnancy may be risky.
🩺 2. Strengthening weak contractions
If labor contractions are too weak or slow, oxytocin can help make them stronger and more regular.
🩺 3. Preventing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)
After a baby is delivered, oxytocin helps the uterus contract firmly, which reduces bleeding and helps prevent excessive blood loss.
🩺 4. Managing postpartum hemorrhage
It is also used as a first-line treatment when a woman is bleeding heavily after childbirth.
How It Is Given
Oxytocin is usually administered:
• Injection into a muscle (IM) after delivery
• Intravenous infusion (IV) during labor in the hospital
Important Note
Oxytocin should only be given by trained healthcare professionals, because too much can cause very strong contractions, which may harm the mother or baby.
👩‍⚕️ Health Tip:
In many delivery settings, oxytocin is part of the active management of the third stage of labor to prevent postpartum hemorrhage.

🩸 POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE: A LEADING CAUSE OF MATERNAL DEATH
Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is excessive bleeding after childbirth. It is one of the most dangerous complications of delivery and remains a major cause of maternal deaths worldwide, especially in low-resource settings.
What Is Postpartum Hemorrhage?
Postpartum hemorrhage occurs when a woman loses more than 500 ml of blood after va**nal delivery or more than 1000 ml after a cesarean section. This bleeding usually happens within the first 24 hours after birth, but it can also occur days or weeks later.
Common Causes
The most common causes of postpartum hemorrhage include:
• Uterine atony – when the uterus fails to contract after delivery
• Retained placenta – when part of the placenta remains in the uterus
• Birth canal tears – injuries to the cervix, va**na, or perineum during delivery
• Blood clotting disorders
Among these, uterine atony is the most common cause.
Warning Signs
Postpartum hemorrhage can develop quickly and may include:
• Heavy va**nal bleeding
• Rapid heartbeat
• Low blood pressure
• Dizziness or fainting
• Pale or cold skin
• Weakness or confusion
If not treated quickly, severe blood loss can lead to shock and death.
Prevention and Management
Healthcare providers play an important role in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Some important measures include:
✔ Proper monitoring during and after delivery
✔ Active management of the third stage of labor
✔ Administration of uterotonic drugs such as oxytocin
✔ Early detection and prompt treatment
Important Message
Every pregnant woman should deliver in a health facility with skilled birth attendants. Early detection and prompt treatment can save the life of the mother.
