HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF Dr. Abimbola Awoliyi Memorial Hospital

The hospital was built in the middle and late 1970s in memory of the Late Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Abimbola Awoliyi, who is regarded as the first female Nigerian Medical Practitioner, and also the first female Nigerian Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, and also a Medical Educationist. The hospital is located at 183, Bamgbose Street, Lagos,

the site where Dr. Elizabeth Abimbola Awoliyi Clinic was located when she was alive. The hospital commenced operation in the late 1970 and provides services in all aspect of medicine; which include: General Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Opthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, Radiology and Laboratory Medicine. It is well staffed with competent Specialist Medical Practitioners in all aspects of medicine and the present Medical Director is Dr. Olatunji Daisi Ajetunmobi, an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and a General Practitioner. We have competent skilled nurses, laboratory scientist, managers and HMO officer.
