The 2025 theme of Mental Health day is: Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies"

Benue State has recently been facing severe humanitarian crisis driven by herder-farmer conflicts and armed banditry and this has led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people and a collapse of agricultural livelihoods.

RCN Medical Missions continues work in reaching out to the people of Benue State (and even beyond) via different projects under our three core programs and we trust God for more grace

COMMEMORATION OF WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2025

October 10 was World Mental Health Day

The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

To this end, RCN Medical Missions conducted a school outreach at Good News school, North Bank, Makurdi, Benue State on the 10th of October 2025
The outreach which was targeted at secondary school students was centered around building a positive self image for mental health and staying away from drug abuse
The Medical Director and Director of Medical Missions, Remnant Christian Network was present and handled a session of the outreach.
The students were also ministered to spiritually by Pastor Exodus Edache.
Over 120 students were present.

WAR AGAINST THE DEMON IN BENUE STATE CORRECTIONAL CENTER, MAKURDI

Our weekly clinic outreach to inmates of the Benue State Correctional Center, Makurdi has continued by the mercies of God, with Excellent workforce and a 'little here, a little there' support from blessed hands.
We have gone weekly with the word and with medicine, two edged and sharp!
We go again today, the 8th of October, marking the 14th weekly clinic at the correctional center.

For the past number of weeks, we have taken cognizance of a particular struggle among the inmates, even affecting some officers. We therefore join our Medical Director and Director of Medical Missions to declare WAR!

Let's defeat this Demon, JOIN US.

On October 2nd, 2025, we welcomed back three courageous IDP mothers for their first post-natal checkup after successful deliveries at RCN Medical Center.

Each visit reminds us why we serve — to bring hope, healing, and the love of Christ to every mother and child.

Monthly ANC Clinic at the IDP Mega Camp, Ortom Road (September Edition) and Intervention of RCN Medical Missions for the Safe Delivery of three Babies for three IDPs

RCN Medical Center held the 2nd edition of the Free monthly Antenatal Clinic for pregnant women residing in the IDP Mega Camp on 25th of September, 2025.

The RCN Medical Missions Team arrived the camp with tools and equipment needed for an effective clinic.

This month's ANC at the IDP mega camp was graced with the presence of the Medical Director and Director of Medical Missions; Rev. Dr. Chukwudi Okebaram, the Deputy Director of Medical Missions; Rev. Dr. Taiwo Omolayo, the Deputy Director of Clinical services; Dr Ekoja and we had Pastor Mrs Joy Ogidi present for spiritual counseling.

The clinic commenced with the set up in the flow of registration, data collection & history taking, vital signs checks, laboratory investigations individual private medical consultation, ultrasound scanning, counseling and ministration and the pharmacy.
They all received free medications.

In total, 25 women were attended to

Particular Issues for Follow-up/Referral
In the course of the Antenatal Clinic, four cases of concern were identified;
• 1 Premature Rupture of Membrame
• 1 Post-dated Pregnancy with Placental insufficiency
•1 Post-dated Pregnancy
•1 Woman was noticed to already be in labour and 4cm dilated upon examination

Due to the inadequate referral system and follow up of the onground clinic, RCN Medical Missions decided to take up the labour/delivery and care of these cases

An ambulance vehicle was sort out and three of the four women were taken to RCN Medical Center for proper care

GOOD NEWS!!!
On the 26th of September, 2025 (the day RCN Medical Center clocked 1year), two of the women from the IDP camp were safely delivered of healthy male babies and on the 27th of September, the third woman was safely delivered of a healthy female child
The women were attended to FOR FREE; no charge attached.

Then the Lord said, ‘Today, I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you’.

SURGICAL FESTIVAL (MAIDEN EDITION)
April 28th - May 16th 2025

The surgical festival stood as a modern day Gilgar rolling away shame and sufferings, bringing dignity, hope, health, joy!

From assessment at registration, to free laboratory investigations and ultrasound scanning, medical assessment, blood screenings and transfusion, minor and major surgical procedures, hospital admission/stay, free medication, take home medications, follow-up consultation and wound care, the message was clear: The Love and Power of God at work to take away burdens and yokes.

In 22 days, 88 patients were assessed, 65 had laboratory and radiological investigations and 26 surgeries were successfully done FREE for all beneficiaries.

A major highlight was the removal of a MASSIVE UTERINE FIBROID from a young woman, the operation was successful, the woman discharged whole.

Only GOD can do these things!

Proverbs 22:6; Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Primary and Secondary schools have resumed session, so will our outreaches to students to educate them on matters that affect the young ones, provide assistance as possible and give them that which is most important - THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

The RCN Medical Missions team in collaboration with School Evangelist, Mr God'stime Osayi conducted a school outreach at UBE Secondary School, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
During the school outreach, the JSS1 and JSS2 students of the school (separately) had a health talk on what drug abuse is, the dangers of drug abuse and how to stay clear of it, after which they were ministered unto and prayed for.
Free biros were also distributed to all students present. About 140 students partook of the outreach.

Still ruminating over the recent ADULLAM Street Outreach that held over a week ago, let's do a throwback to the street Outreach that held in May also in collaboration with ADULLAM

STREET MEDICAL OUTREACH AT KONSHISHA AND BSU ENVIRONS
Reaching out to the community, the Medical Missions team of the RCN Medical Center, in collaboration with ADULLAM (RCN Theological Seminary) conducted free medical outreaches at Konshisha area of Makurdi, on the 3rd of May, 2025 and opposite Benue State University (BSU) environs beside New Apostolic Church, opposite Benue State Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, Benue State, on the 4th of May, 2025.

Statistics of the Medical Outreaches:
At the Konshisha Street outreach, a total of 123 patients were attended to, females: 79 and males: 44. The age of the participants ranged from 2 years to 83 years of age.
At BSU environs, 92 patients were attended to, females: 57 and males: 35. The age of the participants ranged from 11months old to 85 years of age

The free medical outreach provided health education, vital signs checks, personal consultation with the doctor, lab tests, medications and counselling.
