Niger State Governor Explores Railway Partnership with China.

Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, hosted a delegation from the China Railway Corporation in Minna, Niger State. The corporation, renowned for constructing China's extensive railway network, discussed working out a partnership to establish a railway network across three geopolitical zones in the state and Abuja.

The meeting also delved into potential collaborations in various sectors, including agriculture, housing, and the construction of airline hangars and the Cango terminal at Bola Tinubu International Airport Minna. With plans to solidify the partnership, the delegation is set to draft a Concept Note and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a business relationship with the state.

The ambitious project is anticipated to be funded through the China Exim Bank, marking a significant step towards improving transportation infrastructure and economic growth in Niger State.

NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO DISTRIBUTE GRAINS PALLIATIVE NEXT WEEK
***RAMADAN FEEDING CENTRES TO BE SET UP IN LGAs

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has disclosed that the 120 trucks of assorted grains procured by the State Government to complement the 46 trucks of food palliative by the Federal government will commence next week.

The Farmer Governor made the disclosure when he met with all the Emirs from the eight Emirate Councils, the 25 Local Government Council Chairmen and the Imams Forum at the Government House Minna.

He said the distribution will be done across all the 25 local government areas of the State and will be coordinated by all the Emirs in the 8th Emirate Councils.

The Farmer Governor further stated that Council Chairmen, Religious Leaders, security agents and all other relevant stakeholders in the State will be included in the distribution process to ensure effective and fair distribution.

He advised all involved to be responsible and not sabotage the effort as anyone found wanting would be dealt with accordingly.

On the forthcoming Ramadan, the Farmer Governor disclosed that feeding centres would be established in all the Local government areas of the State to feed Muslims in the month of Ramadan.

He appreciated the Religious Scholars for their fervent prayers and encouraged them to continue to pray for the State and the Country at large for prosperity.

Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers Alh. Yahaya Abubakar who commended Farmer Governor for his leadership style, said Traditional Institutions will harmonise their structures, that of the State down to the Ward level to achieve the desired results.

FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Produce-For-Lagos initiative.

The Produce-For-Lagos initiative is a long term strategic partnership between Niger and Lagos State(s), where Niger State will produce food items (Paddy, Tubers, Legumes, Grains etc) and Lagos State will be position itself to be a major organized market (off takers).

The Farmers in Niger State will have a ready market for their produce while Lagos State citizens can be assured availability and price stability of food items.

In the Long term, this initiative will create a ready supply of farm produce directly to the ongoing massive Lagos Food logistics in Ketu Ereyun, Epe.
