It’s our final week of the medical mission. This morning, we completed ward rounds where we checked on our patients in the ICU and recovery wards.

A major aspect of our mission is capacity building for local healthcare staff. Our partners equip our local health care staff with the necessary knowledge needed to care for patients after the mission. This staff will impact this knowledge on their colleagues.

Today marks the official start of our 2025 Medical Mission at the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF) Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital— and what a meaningful day it is.

With our partners from the VOOM Foundation arriving and patient evaluations underway, we are embarking on a mission to transform lives through critical cardiac care. This collaboration brings hope to children and adults across Nigeria who are in urgent need of life-saving heart procedures.

Together, we aim to perform:
💙 10 pediatric open-heart surgeries
❤️ 20 adult open-heart surgeries
💛 10 pediatric interventional cardiology procedures

📍 Pediatric Mission: May 1st – 11th
📍 Adult Mission: May 3rd – 18th

Every life we touch reaffirms our belief that access to healthcare should never be a privilege—it’s a right. At SEOF, we remain deeply committed to this vision, and today, we take another step forward.
