🗼Nsk LG Chairman, Engr. Asogwa reveals Security, other projects in Nsukka LG - Video
The executive chairman Nsukka (Nsk) LG, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa on Sunday, 11th of January, 2026 at Adada House, Nsukka, Enugu State during the unveiling ceremony of the High-Tech security equipments donated to Nsukka by the Nsukka LG Diaspora Desk Community (NLGDDC), made significant statements on matters concerning, defecation to APC from PDP, the gesture demonstrated by the diaspora, security analysis in Nsukka and Igbo land in general.
Engr. Jude revealed the diaspora reached out to enquire what he's doing on security matters, saying he revealed the moves to them online.
"I explained to them what we're doing in both human infrastructure and human capital development. They said they'll support us in security. I told them please, if you'll support us, don't give us money, give us equipments" he said
Commenting on the number of equipments procured, Engr Asogwa said it's not about the number, rather, what matters is the thought, looking back home and deciding to help their home.
"it's not about the number of Motorcycles or drone. What matters to me is the thought, looking back home. All these people here, if they come home, and they can use security and go to anywhere and go back" he said.
He assured that his Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah will receive the message and he'll be happy to hear it.
He told Tower FM news agents and repeated it to the crowd, the unwavering support of Peter Mbah and the actual idea of joining APC.
"The truth of the matter is that his Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, who's the executive governor of Enugu State, is doing wonderfully well".
"We joined APC few months now, and the essence of joining that APC, is to connect back to the root" he clarified.
Engr. Asogwa went on to say they're three important seats "President, Vice, and Senate President" which has been rotating between Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba. This rotation, according to him desolved when the Igbos endorsed EMOTIONAL POLITICS. Since then, it goes from Hausa, to Yoruba, then Niger Delta, where you hear Goodwill Akpabio, Amaechi, Wike, and others who were behind but overtaken now.
Asogwa condemned the emotional politics played in 2023 when everyone joined Labour Party (LP) quoting that one thing is getting votes, the other is securing the votes. He narrated how LP lost the votes they got, now the Igbos have left the party and joined another party. Though he didn't mention the new party, but it's most likely ADC on his mind.
Asogwa called for a round of applause for the Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who accepted help from the US government instead of using pride to let things get worse.
Going further to compliment the State Governor, he explained what the gov. is doing for the people of Nsukka, which includes Smart Green Schools, Type 2 Hospital, Vice Chancellor's seat in UNN, Road constructions,
"His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, since he took over the seat, he's building Smart Green Schools in Nsukka LG. They're building it in 260 Wards in Enugu State. They're building it in 20 Wards in Nsukka. They're building Type 2 Hospital in Nsukka LG" he said
"There's nothing he's doing at his place Nkanu that he's not doing for us in Nsukka" he assured.
Engr. Asogwa reiterated that since 65 years the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) had been in existence, this is the first time and indigenous Nsukka man is made the Vice Chancellor. He revealed Nsukka people always takes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the VC's elections, but always not declared the winners, till Mbah came, and met with Bola Tinubu to bring free and fare election which made it possible for an Nsukka son to be on the sit.
Asogwa reminded the diaspora tje project of 44.5km road at Ugwuogo that was commissioned by the state govt.
He made it clear that the LG under his (Engr. Jude Asogwa) current tenure are the ones that constructed the 1.6km road that led to where he stood while speaking (Adada House), saying he didn it as a LG chairman with the commissioning of Peter Mbah.
He mentioned more road projects under his tenure. "We're constructing 5.6km road in Ngwuru/Edobara/Lejja road. We're constructing 4.2km road in Ụmụakashi, in Amaji Uwelu/Amaji Uwani. There's a road in Ọdọrụ, a 2.5km road not completed by the previous administration that did just 1km, so we're doing the remaining 1.5km. These are the things were doing", Engr. Asogwa reiterated, saying it's all by the support of Peter Mbah.
Asogwa touched the most trending "D3molished Ogige Market" where people are Cr*ing out, saying it's inappropriate. He explained they're works going on there which other markets in Enugu were also d3molished, but it's only in Nsukka that work has started.
"I want to tell you people, that market that was d3molished, his Excellency, with his assistance, we're constructing 5,000 Capacity International Market there"
"It's not only in Nsukka that a market was d3molished. Market was d3molished in Abakpa, Gariki, and Holyghost, which no market is built yet. It's only in Nsukka that market is under construction"
"That market was d3molished to build bus terminal. Before now, from Nsukka to Enugu, costs you ₦5,000, but now, from Nsukka to Enugu under AC is ₦1,200" he concluded.
Coming the reason for the gathering, which is SECURITY, the Mayor (The Chairman) revealed the challenges and the measures take so far in Nsukka.
"When we come to office, we realized security is an issue. At the local level, we recruited 10 security agents from each community"
"In Nsukka LG right now, we have over 641 local security (Neighborhood watch)"
More security measures were listed as the chairman announced that there is a standing "Nsukka Complainant Unit", under the leadership of Barr. Omeke.
People of Nsukka are made to to know that the job of this complainant unit to ensure no Nsukka indigenous man/woman will be intimidated by anybody or group.
"No Nsukka person must be intimidated. Be it EEDC/MAIN POWER, be Security agents, be it Family, anything" he revealed.
He concluded bu welcoming the NLGDDC again under the leadership of Rev. Mike Ugwu JP to Nsukka, their home.
