*GLAUCOMA AWARENESS* ❗📢
Glaucoma is often called the silent Thief Of Sight cause it usually doesn't show any symptoms until it has caused severe damage to the optic nerve.
Glaucoma is a disease that damages the optic nerve due to build up of pressure of pressure in the eyeballs.
*How does this pressure build up?*
There's a liquid in the eye called the aqueous humour. This liquid drains through mesh canals which is where the Iris and cornea come together at an angle.
If these canals are blocked or are too small to drain the aqueous humour,it builds up gradually hereby increasing pressure on the optic nerve and with time causes severe damage to the nerve fibres.
We'd discuss about the symptoms that comes after severity and types of Glaucoma tomorrow.
