Today is World's Sickle Cell Day

Sickle Cell disease is a disease that affects or break down human red blood cells.

What should I do if I or my child have Sickle Cell disease

1) Visit the hospital.
2) Get tested to confirm the diagnosis
3) Drink enough water to stay hydrated
4) Make sure you take *All* your Immunizations
5) Ensure you take your routine medications
6) Go to the hospital immediately if you or your child has any of the following symptoms:
i- High fever
ii- Severe headache
iii- dizziness
iv- Severe abdominal pain
v- Abdominal swelling
vi- Chest Pain
vii- difficulty in breathing
viii- Appearing pale
ix- confusion or sudden numbness
x- sudden vision changes

Today, we recognize and raise awareness about Sickle Cell disease and say: "there is hope through progress".

*Osogbo central hospital in partnership with Helpster (a Tech-driven charity organization registered in US) present free quality medical care for vulnerable children from poor homes.
To kick start the partnership, Osogbo central hospital being the only Helpster accredited Hospital in Osun State will be having an outreach for children with 0-21 years with acute or chronic medical conditions that will benefit from the program on Saturday 18th May, 2024 by 10am prompt at the hospital premises located adjacent Nawarudeen Grammar School, oke baale, Osogbo

Nigeria with an estimated population of over 200 million people is the most populous black nation on earth. This population is estimated to double in the next 25 years.
The challenge now is how to provide that quality, all encompassing Healthcare services that Nigerians are in desperate need of, services that will be affordable, accessible and available always.
