ORISHA IBEJI

The Orisha Ibeji are the divine twins.
They bring joy, happiness and abundance to their followers.
The Ibeji (also called Ibelli, Ibeyi, Meji, Melli or Jimaguas) is the orisha of the divine twins.
According to african spirituality, while there are two individuals when twins are born, the Ibeji is one Orisha. Twins are considered sacred by birth among the African people.
The Ibeji (and all twins for that matter) are considered one soul contained in two bodies, inextricably linked in life through destiny. The Ibeji are the Orishas of joy, mischief, abundance and childish glee. They are the children of Shango and Oshun and are considered to be the first twins born on the Earth.

The Ibeji are considered the main Orisha of anyone who is born a twin, including those who have lost their twin sibling. In African spirituality, when a mother gives birth to twins, Ibeji are consecrated and given to her as well as a set for her twin children. If one of the twins dies, a special doll is consecrated to act as a body for that deceased child’s sibling to carry (So that the two-bodied soul of the twins can remain intact. Otherwise the surviving twin would quickly follow his or her sibling to death).
When the second twin dies, a second doll is consecrated to match the first and both are kept with the consecrated pots by the mother.The first born twin of the Ibeji is considered the younger of the two and is named Taiwo.
The second born is considered to be older and is named Kehinde.

Do not steal and embezzle people labor behind Sango … Sango will kill evils doers

Do not use Egún to defraud people … You will end in doom.

Do not use the power of water to bring people down … Yemoja will expose your secret .

Do not use the handsomeness and wealth of Orunmila to extort and collect people wives … what you get wrongfully might be your end .

These Orishas are not evil … Check the heart of humans and the ways of their heart .

ORUNMILA BABA AGBONMIREGUN
Whenever any Orisha needed any guidance or help, they would go to Orunmila. Orunmila was an excellent diviner and master in the art of medicine and magic. Everyone loved Orunmila because he loved and took care of everyone.

One day an Orisha named Oko had a problem on his mind and came to Orunmila for assistance. “Baba Orunmila, please hear me out. Here I am, living on Earth, but I have no way to distinguish myself amongst the others here. I have no special talents or powers that make me stand out from the rest.

Whenever anyone has a problem they run to you. I would like to be of assistance to others in some way of my own. Please, what can you do to help me?”
Orunmila pondered for a minute. “I see, I see… Let me think about this for a while. I will see what we can do.”
The next day another Orisha named Ogun came to Orunmila. “Baba Orunmila, am I not an Orisha?,” Ogun asked him. “I should be powerful! Humans should be praising me. Alas, I have nothing that distinguishes me from any other Orisha. Baba, what can you do to make this better for me?”
Orunmila answered him, “I am thinking… I will see what we can do.”
It did not take long before all of the Orisha came, one by one, to Orunmila’s abode looking for their own powers. Sango went to inquire, Osanyin went to inquire, Eshu went to inquire, and many more. They all came to Orunmila, asking for special gifts and wisdom that they can use to help the world.

Orunmila was distressed. His wife, the Apetebi, noticed that Orunmila was not well. He did not touch his food for days and he tossed-and-turned in his sleep. Worried about his health, she called his friend, Alagemo the Chameleon and asked him to go and talk with him. When Alagemo arrived he suggested they take a walk together in the sacred forest. On their walk, Alagemo asked Orunmila why he was so heavy with worry and trouble.

A man went to Òrúnmìlà and asked, "What's the value of life?"

Òrúnmìlà then gave him one stone and said, "Find out the value of this stone, but don't sell it."

The man took the stone to an Orange Seller and asked him what it's cost would be.

The Orange Seller saw the shiny stone and said, "You can take 12 oranges and give me the stone."

The man apologized and said that Òrúnmìlà had asked him not to sell it.

He went ahead and found a vegetable seller. "What could be the value of this stone?" he asked the vegetable seller. The seller saw the shiny stone and said, "Take one sack of potatoes and give me the stone."

The man again apologized and said he can't sell it.

Further ahead, he went into a jewellery shop and asked the value of the stone.

The jeweler saw the stone under a lens and said, "I'll give you 50 Lakhs for this stone." When the man shook his head, the jeweler said, "Alright, alright, take 2 crores, but give me the stone."

The man explained that he can't sell the stone. Further ahead, the man saw a precious stone's shop and asked the seller the value of this stone.

When the precious stone's seller saw the big ruby, he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby on it. Then he walked in circles around the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of the ruby.

"From where did you bring this priceless ruby from?" he asked. "Even if I sell the whole world, and my life, I won't be able to purchase this priceless stone.

Stunned and confused, the man returned to Òrúnmìlà and told him what had happened. "Now tell me what is the value of life, Baba Àgbonìrègún...???

Òrúnmìlà said, "The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the Vegetable Seller, the Jeweler & the Precious Stone's Seller explain the value of our life... You may be a precious stone, even priceless, but people may value you based on their level of information, exposure, taste of quality, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition, and their risk taking ability. But don't fear, you will surely find someone who will discern your true value.....

in whatever we say, in everything we say, be mindful,
be honest, be truthful, be conscious in order not to harm ourselves or our loved ones with our own utterances. We should not be our own worst enemy!

Ega, the Palm Bird built her home
Ega, the Palm Bird used her mouth to scatter her home
This was the Ifa cast for Ega seseese
Who gave birth to two children
And announced that her home was now completely filled with children
She was advised to offer ebo…

In this Odu, Ega, the Palm Bird was fond of using superlative terms to qualify her activities in order to make her colleagues angry, jealous, and/or feel inadequate. She boasted, bragged and exaggerated about everything, and most of what she said was not true.
She was warned against this type of behavior several times, but she refused to listen.

One day Ega laid two eggs and hatched the two.
This gave her the perfect opportunity she was looking for in order to give her colleagues something to be jealous over. She announced to her colleagues that her home was now filled up with several children.
So, for that reason, the colleagues of Ega seseese planned with hunters to go and ransack her home, and capture her together with all her children.
When the hunters arrived, they simply set her house on fire. The two babies died, and Ega just barely escaped.
Ever since that time, Ega seseese has lived her life lonely, with sorrow and regret.

HOW TO KNOW YOU HAVE EGBE?

As I explained earlier Enikeji Orun is the heavenly replica that people see in their dreams. So the easier way to identify your connection with Egbe is usually through dreams. Although there are other ways; like knowing through Idafa (Ifà consultation/Ifà divination) or strange occurrences like losing of items.

For example, one may be having dreams fetching water from streams or rivers in company of others; dreams of having s*x with opposite s*x; breast feeding or carrying a baby at the back; see yourself in the midst of many children feeding them or dancing with them; or other consistent disturbing dreams. All these can in most cases be a signs that the Egbe are demanding the attention of the dreamer. Or the person may begin to lost items frequently in a strange way. What our forefathers did when one begins to have persistent dreams like this is to seek spiritual guidance through divination to know what is going on.

Egbe appeasement is for one self. One must not forget to reconnect with Egbe in this world if one notices that he or she has strong connection with one spiritually. Appeasing or propitiating Egbe is usually done to have good and stable life, good marital life, to avoid premature death, or other bad occurrences. Some people have covenant with Egbe in heaven but when they get to this world they renege on it. As a result they suffer a lot. No matter religion you belong to it doesn't change your agreement with your Egbe.

So those who have Egbe and forsake them usually bear the brunt. It doesn't matter how many times you called blood of Jesus, or called on Mohamed. Even Orunmila himself when he forsake his Egbe he bore the brunt and needed to make redress.

ORISHA OSANYIN
Osanyin, is Orisha that play a very important role within the African spirituality, For he is owner of the leaf, herbs, and medicinal plants that make up our spirituality. From mythological History we know that Osanyin was born from no mother or father , But, from the marriage of the earth and water together. He mostly stays to himself do to his appearance. Osanyin has one leg and one arm. his ears are Asymmetrical, one that is large that he can not hear anything with and a smaller ear that hears even the leaf falling from a tree miles away. His head is extraordinary . Normally he likes to hide his head behind a mask of Paja (Grass). Osanyin possesses the abilities of hunting but his true ability is the knowing each secret of the herbs and woods.

Osanyin ,knows all the secrets of the leaf 🌿, also Each Orisha possess some leaves 🌿🌿 that belong only to them , which they use and dispense when realizing a ceremony where they are implicated.
The herbs are a work tool for the Orisha un-substitutable, with the power that emanates from them it is best to be sure of what you are using and why. They produce a spiritual well being as well as corporal. Leaf 🌿, is fundamental for whatever ceremony there is within our spirituality.
