To keep your optical glasses in great condition, follow these essential tips:

Cleaning Your Glasses
Daily Cleaning: Clean your glasses daily to remove dust, oils, and smudges. Use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe away debris.
Rinse Before Wiping: Rinse your glasses under lukewarm water to remove loose particles that could scratch the lenses.
Mild Dish Soap: Use a small drop of mild, lotion-free dish soap on each lens. Gently rub the soap onto both sides of each lens and all parts of the frame.
Dry with Microfiber Cloth: Use a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth to dry your glasses. Avoid paper towels or tissues that can scratch lenses.

Storing Your Glasses

Use a Hard-Shell Case: Store your glasses in a protective case when not in use to shield them from accidental falls, pressure, or damage.
Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Keep your glasses away from direct sunlight, high heat, or cold, as these can affect the structure of your frames and lenses.

Handling Your Glasses

Use Both Hands: Hold your glasses with both hands when putting them on or taking them off to prevent bending the frames.
Avoid Touching Lenses: Handle your glasses by the frame to avoid putting pressure on the lenses.

Additional Tips

Regular Maintenance: Visit your optician regularly for check-ups on your eyewear's condition. They can identify wear and tear early and provide professional cleaning and adjustments.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use household cleaners, ammonia, or bleach, as they can damage lens coatings and frame materials.

By following these tips, you'll be able to keep your optical glasses in top shape and ensure clear vision for years to come.

when last did you check your eyes??
here's why you need to check your eyes more often
- Why It Matters: Regular eye check-ups help detect vision problems, eye diseases (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts), and even systemic conditions like diabetes early, improving treatment outcomes.
- Frequency: Adults should have an eye exam every 1-2 years, or annually if over 60 or at risk. Children should be checked at 6 months, 3 years, and before starting school.
- What to Expect: An optometrist will test your vision, check eye pressure, examine the retina, and assess overall eye health.
- Signs to Schedule Sooner: Blurry vision, double vision, eye pain, or sudden vision changes warrant an immediate visit.
- Benefits: Early detection can prevent vision loss, and check-ups ensure your prescription (if needed) is up-to-date for optimal clarity.

There are no spare eyes in the market  once damaged, they’re gone for good. Beyond injuries and infections, light is one of the biggest threats to your eye health.

Here are a few smart tips to protect your eyes:

Under the sun? Wear photochromic glasses or sunglasses with UV protection

Using your phone or computer? Use anti-blue light glasses to reduce digital eye strain.

Going to bed? Always remove your glasses. Sleeping with them could break them  or worse, injure you.

On a screen for long hours? Follow the 20-20-20 rule  every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

What Happens to Your Eyes at 40?

Let’s talk about something many of us secretly struggle with vision changes after 40

When I turned 40, the first sign that hit me wasn’t back pain or grey hairs, it was my eyes.

I’ve always talked to people about age-related degeneration and sold reading glasses. But somehow, it never really clicked that one day I’d be part of that story too.

Then it happened ; I started struggling to read small print. It confused me at first. I didn’t even remember I’d turned 40! 😂

For weeks I kept squinting, pretending it was the lighting or a bad day. Deep down, I knew “it was my turn” Still, I didn’t want to accept it.

I sell glasses. I encourage others to use reading glasses. Yet I refused to wear mine, stuck in denial. It took me over six months to accept that my eyes had aged and they needed help.

Honestly? I was embarrassed. I didn’t want my friends to know I’d hit the big 40. But now, I embrace it.

So if you're going through the same thing, here’s your reminder:

You are not alone.
It’s OK to age.
And most importantly, don’t strain your eyes. Wear the glasses.*👓

Your eyes will thank you later.

Protect Your Eyes from Harmful UV Rays (Sunlight)☀️

UV (ultraviolet) light is a form of damaging radiation that comes primarily from the sun. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can lead to serious eye problems, including cataracts, macular degeneration, and even permanent vision loss.

When shopping for your next pair of glasses or sunglasses, don’t just focus on style—make sure they offer UV protection. It's one of the most important features for keeping your eyes healthy and safe.

Photochromic glasses are a great option! These lenses automatically darken in response to sunlight, shielding your eyes from harmful UV rays whenever you step outside. They're both convenient and protective.

Keep in mind: not all sunglasses are created equal. Just because lenses are tinted doesn't mean they offer UV protection. Always check the label.

✅ Choose photochromic lenses
✅ Or sunglasses with certified UV protection
✅ Give your eyes the care they deserve

Your eyes will thank you.
