URINARY TRACT INFECTION ‼️‼️‼️

Urinary tract infection also known as (UTIs) is said to be the invasion of germs or micro organisms into the urinary system. .

UTIs are common infections that happen when bacteria, often from the re**um or other body parts, enter the urethra and infect the urinary tract. The infections can affect several parts of the urinary tract, but the most common type is a bladder infection also known as (cystitis).

If extra care isn't taken, it can lead to Kidney infection (pyelonephritis) which is another type of UTI. They’re less common, but more serious than bladder infections.

Most individuals are at higher risk of getting a UTI.
This infections are more common in females because their urethras are shorter and closer to the re**um. This makes it easier for bacteria to enter the urinary tract. But hey‼️

That doesn't mean that men don't suffer from it...but they are a bit safe because their urethra is longer than that of a female.

Other factors that can increase the risk of UTIs includes:

*previous urinary tract infection

*Changes in the bacteria that live inside the va**na, or va**nal flora. From douching ,menopause or the use of spermicides can cause these bacterial changes, thereby altering the pH of the va**na

*older adults and young children are more likely to get this infections why? Because their Immunity isn't so strong...

*Poor hygiene, for example, wiping the va**na wrongly after peeing ..(the correct way should be wiping from front to back).. lesson for another day 🥰

Symptoms of urinary tract infections 🦠🦠

-Pain or burning while urinating
-Frequent urination
-Feeling the need to urinate despite having an empty bladder
-Bloody urine
-Pressure or cramping in the groin or lower abdomen

When this infection travels to the kidneys you have symptoms like;

-Fever

-Chills

-Lower back pain or pain in the side of your back( please treat as serious before it gets to irreversible kidney issues)‼️‼️

-Nausea or vomiting

Note ‼️‼️ children may not be able to tell you about UTI symptoms they are having. While at that ,fever is the most common sign of UTI in infants and toddlers...

Kindly Talk to a health personnel if you notice your child has fever.... because it might not be just UTI....other underlying causes might arise.

Hope you learnt something today???
Kindly like, comment and share 😊😊
