Abia’s Progress Must Matter More Than Political Comfort — The Bridge Weighs In

Aba, Abia State — October 10, 2025

Former Labour Party House of Assembly candidate for Osisioma Ngwa North, Iheyinna Ositadinma Mgbeahuru, popularly known as The Bridge, has weighed in on the unfolding political debates in Abia State following the remarks made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, during a recent road commissioning event in Aba.

In a thoughtful statement released on Thursday, Mgbeahuru urged political actors across party lines to treat calls for transparency as a civic duty rather than an act of hostility.

He reminded stakeholders that the Labour Party’s rise to power in Abia was built on the principles of accountability, transparency, and probity, and that those values must remain the foundation of governance in the state.

> “As one who flew the Labour Party flag in the last election, I remember clearly that we anchored our campaign on accountability, transparency, and good governance,” he said. “Beyond party lines, I believe that when questions are raised about how our collective resources are used, it shouldn’t provoke outrage — it should invite clarity.”

Mgbeahuru described the Deputy Speaker’s comments as a necessary national conversation rather than a political attack, noting that “sometimes truth needs disturbance to float.”

> “The Deputy Speaker may have stirred deep waters, but sometimes truth needs disturbance to float. Leadership that prides itself on integrity should never fear facts,” Mgbeahuru added.

A respected voice in Abia’s political space, Ositadinma further urged leaders and citizens alike to embrace constructive dialogue over emotional reactions, asserting that true governance thrives on openness and self-assessment.

> “At the end of the day, Abia’s progress must matter more than political comfort,” he concluded.

His intervention has been received as a rare voice of reason — coming from within the Labour Party fold, yet acknowledging the value of scrutiny and open governance in building a stronger and more accountable Abia State.

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE

Mgbeahuru Charts a New Political Course, Calls for Peaceful Resolution of National Agitations

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, former Executive Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Iheyinna Ositadinma Benjamin Mgbeahuru, has delivered a statesmanlike message to his constituents and supporters, outlining a renewed political direction while urging the Federal Government to embrace dialogue and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in addressing sensitive national issues.

In his Independence message, Mgbeahuru reflected on Nigeria’s journey since independence, describing the day as “more than a reminder of our history; it is a call to re-examine our journey and recommit ourselves to building a Nigeria where justice, unity, and progress are not mere slogans but living realities.”

He revealed that after wide consultations and deep reflection, he has decided to reposition himself politically by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) — a move he described as one guided by conviction rather than bitterness. According to him, the decision reflects a commitment to better serve his people and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s evolving political discourse.

Mgbeahuru acknowledged recent Federal Government interventions in Abia State, especially in road infrastructure, power, health, and education, noting that these initiatives demonstrate a renewed commitment to bridging infrastructural gaps and improving citizens’ welfare. He called for stronger collaboration between the state, the federal government, and the people to sustain these gains.

Addressing the Biafra agitation and the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, he described the issues as deep and sensitive, urging the Federal Government to adopt genuine dialogue and ADR mechanisms as sustainable approaches to achieving lasting peace. “True peace is not enforced; it is built through justice, understanding, and sincere engagement,” he stated.

Reaffirming his unwavering commitment to his people, Mgbeahuru called on both leaders and citizens to rise above partisanship and division and to embrace shared responsibility for national development. “My voice will remain firm, my loyalty to the people unwavering, and my hands committed to the work ahead,” he assured.

Every minute spent manually screening resumes is a minute stolen from building human connection.

Imagine this:
•A recruiter before AI drowning in CVs, follow-ups, manual interview setup.
•A recruiter after AI selected candidates are pre-assessed, top matches highlighted, hours freed for coaching teams and engaging candidates.

What’s changing:
• Skills-based hiring grows more critical than ever. Companies are prioritizing what someone can do, not just where they studied.
• Candidate experience is now non-negotiable. Long confusing applications = drop-off. Recruiters are using tools to simplify and humanize.
• Quality over speed. It’s not enough to fill a seat, alignment, culture, future growth matter.

Here’s a simple framework to shift more hiring power back to humans:

Choose one of these to improve now:

✔ Automate scheduling + screening so you spend less time triaging.
✔ Use skills-based assessment tools to widen your talent pool.
✔ Audit and simplify your candidate journey (application, feedback, hiring timeline).

If you want to see what this looks like in practice, I recommend trying out Flowmingo AI, it helps structure interviews, deliver consistent candidate evaluations, and frees you from rote tasks so you can spend time where you shine. https://flowmingo.ai/?utm_source=22masown

Let’s bring back the human in recruiting.

A recruiter told me last week:
“We’ve never interviewed so many people so fast—yet we still struggle to find the right match.”

That’s the reality in 2025.
AI is speeding up sourcing, screening, and scheduling. But speed without structure creates noise.

Here’s the shift smart hiring teams are making:

They use AI to handle the repetitive layers.

They keep human judgment focused where it matters: culture, motivation, and growth potential.

They build early-career pipelines because entry-level talent + structured interviews = long-term advantage.

The result?
Faster hiring cycles, more consistent evaluations, and candidates who feel valued instead of processed.

If you’re leading a team today, the question isn’t “Should we use AI?”—it’s “How do we blend AI + human insight in a way that builds trust?”

That’s exactly why we built Flowmingo: a free-for-recruiters AI interviewing platform designed to give you structure, personalization, and fair evaluations, while you focus on the conversations that matter most.
