We glorify God by doing good deeds as the light of the world and salt of the earth. We provide free non-urgent telehealth consults, professional counselling/therapy sessions and diet/weight management classes. With the help of our sponsors, volunteers and partners, we organize health awareness and advocacy campaigns, health talks, outreaches, missions and health seminars in both urban and rural areas, for communities, companies, churches and various organizations. We believe that it is always better to prevent than to cure, and it is always better to consult the right health professionals early before it's late. Named after Victoria Oyiya Nsa(nee Brown), one of the most successful businesswomen to come out of Port Harcourt in her time. An Ibani-speaking Ijaw and indigene of Grand Bonny in the Niger Delta region of Southern Nigeria. Victoria Oyiya was born on 9th February 1929 in Bonny to the Brown family and Bristol-Alagbariya Royal family(founders of grand Bonny Kingdom). By marriage she was also related to the Igbos of South East Nigeria and the Efik of Cross River. She was her mother's only child after losing her only brother at a very early age. As a young woman, she also had multiple early pregnancy miscarriages. This informed her passion for healthcare. She formed the first women’s cooperative organization in her community in Finima. She was a foremost feminist and advocated for women’s rights. As a famous businesswoman, caterer and hotelier, she established the first Port Harcourt Airport Hotel and a chain of hotels. She had serviced apartments under the name VEN Hotels in old Port Harcourt. She was also a politician and contested for Local Government chairmanship in the 2nd Republic on the platform of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) which had Chief MKO Abiola as a presidential aspirant. She won many awards, including the Young Women’s Christian Association(YWCA) Lifetime Award post-humously. All these she was able to achieve without completing formal education. She died due to complications of Diabetes Mellitus on the 2nd of April,1996. Violence against women is one of the most widespread, persistent, and devastating human rights violations in our world today.
It is the most extreme form of discrimination, one we must continue to confront with courage, compassion, and collective action.
Today, we raise our voices to say: enough.

We thank God for a successful outreach in Uyo Local Government Area, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, where we marked World Stroke Day.

We thank the good people and Government of Uyo Local Government Area, the Local Government Chairman, his wife and representatives who were present. We also thank all the community and traditional leaders who were present and gave their blessings.

Stroke still disproportionately affects Africans especially Nigerians leading to long term disability and many times cutting people’s lives short. A lot of people have heard about it or know someone that has it, but the big questions always are;
1. Do people know how to prevent it?
2. Do people know how to identify it when it happens?
3. Do they know what steps need to be taken after?

The people of Uyo had the opportunity to learn all of these. They also got health screening, tests and medications.

As an organization, we remain deeply committed to saving lives through health awareness as it has been proven that “the people suffer and perish for lack of knowledge.”

We thank all those who donate, sponsor and partner with us. You are helping humanity and society at large and God is always pleased with this. Posterity will be kind to you.

All of these would not be possible without the dedication of our Akwa Ibom State team, its Leaders and volunteers, South South regional leader and our able outreach supervisors who work tirelessly to ensure we continue to deliver our promise to the people. We also specially thank Mr. Joseph Brown for his contributions to the success of this outreach.

God bless VOHF and its supporters
God bless Uyo LGA and Akwa Ibom State as a whole
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its people
Long live Africa!

Very Dark Man and Mr. Jollof a comedian fought on a plane today. We have not posted the link to the video here but you probably can easily find it or check for a link on our comment section.

For our followers from outside Nigeria who probably don’t know who these 2 people are, don’t bother knowing.

The main point why we brought this here is VDM mentioning that he got bitten and we thought this would make a good teaching point.

Human bites are more deadly than most animal bites. The human mouth has a high concentration of bacteria and could lead to serious infections when inoculated into the body such as in a bite. We talked about how much infections you can transmit by just kissing in a previous video and people were arguing.

Anyone that knows VDM should tag him(there are multiple pages with his name, we don’t know which one is the real one). Let him know not to treat this lightly, he should see a doctor and get checked out. He might probably need to be on antibiotics.

So whether it’s you or VDM, if you ever get bitten by a human being, please see your doctor immediately, it’s not a time to laugh or find out who won or lost the fight.
