It’s another Monday and what can we say.....

We’re battling Lassa fever on our home turf and using corner eye to look at Coronavirus.....

Next we will hear about Ebola.....where does it end?

We don’t know where it ends but your health and the health of others starts with you.....

1. Learn how to wash your hands properly and teach others....
You actually think you know how to wash your hands? You’ll be shocked.....

2. Dispose of your waste properly in tamperproof containers. You could go the extra mile by segregating it.

3. Report to a qualified medical doctor for consultation when you feel ill and stop self medicating.

4. Imbibe healthy practices and encourage others to do so too....

Here are a few tips to stay healthy in this season of airborne viral diseases.....

WHO’s standard recommendations for the general public to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses are as follows, which include hand and respiratory hygiene, and safe food practices:

1. Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water;

2. When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands

3. Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough;

4. If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider

5. When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of novel coronavirus, avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals

6. The consumption of raw or undercooked animal products should be avoided.
Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.

A. Two things to check as often as you can:

(1) Your blood pressure.

(2) Your blood sugar.

B. Six things to reduce to the minimum in your foods:

(1) Salt.

(2) sugar.

(3) preserved meat and foods.

(4) red meat especially roasted.

(5) diary products.

(6) starchy products.

C. Four things to increase in your foods:

(1) Greens/vegetables.

(2) beans.

(3) fruits.

(4) nuts.

D. Three things you need to forget:

(1) Your age.

(2) your past.

(3) your grievances.

E. Five things you must have, no matter how weak or how strong you are:

(1) Friends who truly love you.

(2) caring family.

(3) positive thoughts.

(4) a peaceful home.

(5) a forgiving heart.

F. Five things you need to do to stay healthy:

(1) occasional fasting.

(2) smiling/laughing.

(3) regular exercise.

(4) reduce your weight.

G. Six things you don't have to do:

(1) Don't wait till you are hungry to eat.

(2) don't wait till you are thirsty to drink.

(3) don't wait till you are sleepy to sleep.

(4) don't wait till you feel tired to rest.

(5) don't wait till you get sick to have a medical check.

(6) don’t wait till you have problem before you pray to your Creator.

1) The Stomach is scared when you do not have breakfast in the morning.

(2) The Kidneys are afraid when you do not drink 10 glasses of water in 24 hours.

(3) The Gallbladder is scared when you do not sleep until 11o'clock and do not wake up at sunrise.

(4) The small Intestine is scared when you eat cold food.

(5) Large Intestines are scared when you eat more fried and spicy food.

(6) The Lungs are scared when you breathe in smoke, dirt and polluted environment of Ci******es and Beedis.

(7) The Liver is scared when you eat heavy fried food, junk and fast food.

(8) The Heart is afraid when you eat your meals with more salt and cholesterol.

(9) The Pancreas is scared when you eat more sweets because of the taste and being freely available.

(10) Eyes are scared when you work in the light of mobile and computer screen in the dark.

and

(11) The Brain is scared when you start thinking negative things.

Take care of the parts of your body and do not scare them.

These parts are not available in the market. Those available are very expensive and probably cannot be adjusted in your body. So keep your body parts healthy.
