The KBcare Foundation, in partnership with Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu, launched a week-long Free Surgical Mission, providing life-changing surgeries and endoscopic procedures to over 100 beneficiaries. Registered and screened patients with conditions such as goitre, fibroids, hernia, and other special surgical cases received quality medical care at no cost.
The mission, which started on Monday, 7th July, 2025, involved thorough registration, vital signs reading, and meticulous setup of surgical suites to ensure timely and effective care.
This initiative aimed to transform lives, restore sound health, and boost confidence among the beneficiaries; underscoring the importance of accessible healthcare and highlighting commitment to improving lives.
The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, established in 1986, is a reputable healthcare institution providing a range of medical services, including pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology. With its state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated medical staff, OOUTH is well-equipped to host such critical medical missions.
As a gesture of appreciation and gratitude, The Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ajayi (Torungbuwa I), warmly hosted representatives of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) and the generous donors of an Endoscopy machine to a royal get-together on July 10, 2025.
Flanked by other Remo Obas, including the Aminishan of Oko, Sagamu, the Akarigbo praised the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Mrs. Oluwabunmi Fatungase, for her exceptional leadership and dedication to improving healthcare services in Ogun State.
Oba Ajayi commended Dr. Fatungase for her tireless efforts in implementing intervention programs that have positively impacted the hospital and the community. He assured her of his unwavering support and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the traditional institution and the hospital.
In recognition of their philanthropic efforts, the donors of the Endoscopy machine were awarded a special recognition award, highlighting the value of community support and partnership in advancing healthcare excellence. Also recognized for the efforts and support for the surgical mission were the personnel who were tirelessly on their feet throughout the mission.
