Welcome back to school! As students and teachers resume for the new term today, January 12th, 2026, P-wave Medicare Limited wants to ensure everyone stays healthy, energized, and ready to excel.
The resumption coincides with the peak of the Harmattan season, which brings unique health challenges like dust, dry air, and fluctuating temperatures. Here are our top health tips to keep the school community safe.

🎒 For Students: Stay Sharp and Strong
* Reset Your Sleep Clock: Transitioning from holiday mode can be tough. Aim for 8–10 hours of sleep to ensure your brain is ready for learning.
* Fuel Your Brain: Never skip breakfast! A balanced meal gives you the stamina to focus until closing time.
* Hydration is Key: The dry Harmattan wind dehydrates the body quickly. Carry a reusable water bottle and sip throughout the day—don’t wait until you’re thirsty!
* Skin Protection: Use moisturizers or shea butter to prevent “white” or cracked skin and carry a lip balm to avoid painful chapped lips.
🍎 For Teachers: Lead by Example
* Voice Care: After a long break, your vocal cords may be sensitive. Stay hydrated and try not to strain your voice during the first few days of lessons.
* Health Surveillance: Be the first line of defense. Keep an eye out for students showing signs of persistent coughing, sneezing, or fever, and refer them to the school clinic or P-wave Medicare.
* Manage Stress: Term resumption can be hectic. Take short “breather” breaks between lessons to stay mentally alert and patient.
