We promised we were coming back to give you gist about the Empowered Parent Thriving Child Cohort 7 pitch sessions right?
Let's get into it.
Like I said before, every year, teaches our mothers in the simplest terms I have ever seen, how to pitch their businesses for funding, and it is always followed by a pitch competition.
When she told them after the session that they were going to come out individually and pitch their businesses, everyone was initially apprehensive.
She did a demonstration, and soon, it was time for each person to pitch their business in 3 minutes.
The experience was eye opening for the mothers, but even for us who was watching, a few things stood out:
What you know, you are confident to speak about- invest in knowlege
What you measure, you can grow.
Make yourself easy to help. Let your ask be clear and concise at all times.
The biggest lesson for us as we wrapp up this series on Empowered Parents Thriving Child Cohort 7, is to be prepared for what you are seeking for.
On June 28th, the day the program started, one of the originally selected participants sent a message that she would no longer be able to participate.
We immediately had to call a few people from the waitlist. The notice was incredibly short, but someone jumped at the opportunity to participate.
Guess what? She ended up winning 1st place at the pitch competition, going home with the top prize.
Watching that happen in real time reinforced for us, the need to be prepared for opportunities.
