SHOULDER JOINT
Rotator Cuff Syndrome refers to a group of conditions affecting rotator cuff — the group of four muscles and their tendons that stabilize and move the shoulder joint. These conditions typically involve inflammation, impingement, or tearing of these tendons.
CAUSES
Rotator cuff syndrome can be caused by:
1.Repetitive overhead activities (e.g., athletes, painters, construction workers)
2.Age-related degeneration (common in people over 40)
3.Trauma or sudden injury (e.g., falling on an outstretched arm)
4.Poor posture-leading to shoulder impingements
SYMPTOMS
1.Shoulder pain (especially when lifting arm overhead or lying on the shoulder)
2. Weakness in the arm or shoulder
3. Limited range of motion
4. Clicking or popping sounds
5. Night pain (particularly disturbing sleep)
TREATMENT
1. Rest and activity modification
2.PHYSIOTHERAPY : Strengthening and flexibility exercises,Ice therapy
PREVENTION
1. Proper warm-up before activities
2. Strengthening rotator cuff and shoulder muscles
3. Avoiding repetitive overhead motions
4. Good posture
