Breakfast is the first meal of the day eaten after waking up, usually in the morning.

If you divide this compound word into two parts, you'll see it's made up of “break" and “fast." To fast means to go without food. So “breakfast" means to break the fast you've been observing since you went to sleep the night before!

In my understanding, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

After a long night of sleeping, your fuel tank is on empty. Like a car won't run without gas, your body won't function right without its fuel: food!
Eating anything is better than going without any food at all, it's a good idea to fuel your body with healthy foods to start the day.

The best way to start your day is with a well-balanced breakfast that gives your body the nutrients it needs. Eating a wide variety of foods can help you achieve this balance.

A good breakfast throughout the week will include all sorts of different foods, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy products. Some common breakfast foods that you might consider are whole-grain cereals, toast, pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, milk, yogurt, oatmeal and fruits, like blueberries and strawberries. In fact, any food available ranging from rice, plantains, yam, beans, even "swallow" and soup can be used as breakfast. Just ensure that it's soft and lightweight.

Even if you're in a hurry, it's best not to skip breakfast. Skipping breakfast leaves you feeling tired and very hungry later. This often leads to overeating throughout the rest of the day, which can be unhealthy. Instead of skipping breakfast, grab something quick on the run, such as yogurt, a muffin or a piece of fresh fruit.
Try to avoid foods high in sugars, fats and calories.

*BENEFITS OF BREAKFAST*
🔴Improves memory and concentration levels.
♡Improves mood and lower stress.
♡Helps children's academic performance.
♡Helps maintain healthy weight.
♡Helps in the management of obesity, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

Today the 8th of March, is a day set aside every year to commemorate International Women's day, a day we celebrate the beautiful women around us and their achievements. And while it would be great to gift these special women in our lives chocolates and roses, I would like to gift them with a little serving of nutrition for health on this special day?.
A woman's nutrition today is an investment into the future.Women are at a greater risk than men of developing osteoporosis; a loss of bone tissue that results in bones being brittle and fracture easily.

Healthy food can help give a woman the right balance of nutrients:
- reduces pre-menstrual syndrome.-boost fertility.
-make pregnancy and nursing easier-ease symptoms of menopause-combat stress.
- prevent and control chronic disease.
- maintain your weight and keep you looking your best.

Here is a list of foods women need

1) Iron rich foods : include red meat, chicken, turkey, pork, fish, kale, beans, lentils, spinach and other green vegetables.

2) Folate (or folic acid) rich foods plays an important role in decreasing the risk of birth defects.Foods that naturally contain folate are oranges, leafy green vegetables, beans and peas.

3) Daily Calcium and Vitamin D rich foods:
For healthy bones and teeth, women need to eat a variety of calcium-rich foods every day.The need for both calcium and vitamin D increases as women get older. Some calcium-rich foods include low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt and cheese, sardines, soy beans, green leafy vegetables and calcium-fortified foods.Good sources of vitamin D include fatty fish, such as salmon, eggs and fortified foods and beverages, like milk, yogurts and juices.

4) Women should be mindful of sources of added sugars, saturated fat and alcohol.

Women eat healthy please 🙏,take care of yourself!!!.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
