TOPIC: TESTICULAR TRAUMA AND INFERTILITY
Trauma to the testicles can lead to male Infertility.
Depending on the kind of testicular trauma it can be very painful and can potentially lead to Infertility or decreased fertility.
CAUSES
The most common cause of testicular trauma include:
Sport injuries, Auto accidents, cycling accidents, slip and falls, Assault, Industrial accidents, workplace injuries, improper use of power tools, reckless behavior etc.
HOW TESTICULAR TRAUMA CAN CAUSE MALE INFERTILITY
1. Problems with s***m Production - scar tissue and other problems with the testicular tissue may result in reduced or halted s***m production.
2. Shrinking of the Testicle: when testicles shrinks as a result of injury, the s***m count, s***m motility, and general quality of the s***m will often be adversely affected.
3. Loss of a testicle - In severe injuries, it may not be possible to save a man's testicle, leading to the loss of the testicles and reduced s***m production.

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING MALE INFERTILITY
Male Infertility is any health issue in a man that lowers the chances of his female partner getting pregnant.
Around 30% of FERTILITY problem originate in the man. Thus, it is very important that when a couple first sees the doctor for infertility that a SEMEN ANALYSIS is scheduled.
Forty percent of cases of Infertility are due to problems in the male, particularly in the s***m;
Morphology, Motility and Concerntration.

A semen analysis will evaluate those factors and look at the volume of the semen produced, look at the possibility of having infection in the semen, looking for motility abnormalities, (ie the movement of the s***m, the shape of the s***m,and in the Concerntration of the s***m.
The shape of the s***m is very important because that is perhaps the best PROGNOSTICATOR for the ability of the s***m to actually enter the egg when it reaches it.
CAUSES
These includes;
Trauma to the testicle in the early life
Infection
Hormonal
Genetic and perhaps most commonly we see what are called VARICOCELE.
Varicocele is the abnormality in the drainage of the blood from the testicles back up into the main vein blood supply of the body.
These are associated with poor s***m numbers, motility,and morphology all which can contribute to diminish chances of conceiving in any one cycle.
