The Truth and The Truth: Face the Sting, Avoid the Rot
"The quick pain of truth can pass away, but the slow eating agony of a lie is never lost."— John Steinbeck
We that sharp sting when someone tells the truth—maybe it bruises the ego, hurts the pride, or exposes something tough. But give it a little time, and that sting fades, just like pulling off a bandage. The real trouble starts when someone tries to cover things up with a lie. Lies are sneaky—they hang around in the background, gnawing away at peace of mind and trust, never giving real rest. The pain of a lie doesn’t just go away with time; it lingers, growing heavier, often popping up when least expected.
Even the most uncomfortable truth is like a jab—quick, intense, but over soon. Lies, on the other hand, are parasites; they feed on peace, relationships, and self-respect. That simple, brutal honesty is actually the easy way out, because anything less becomes baggage dragging behind, slowing life down.
Be bold with the truth—it clears the air, keeps the conscience clean, and lets people move forward fast. Lies might feel like shelter from a storm, but they turn the sky cloudy forever.
The real strength is in facing facts, not hiding behind fabrications.
