2nd August most schools will be doing speech and prize giving day. But guess what will happen? Awards will be given to the best in Maths, English, science, overall best students, the neatest etc. No award for the well managed emotions in class, the most attentive, the most committed, the most consistent with homework, the most polite, the most determine, the most kind and friendly and also a child who has been in position 20 for long but tried and move to 19, no award because we focus on performance not values and progress a child is making.

People are so anxious and depressed because they want to perform. Competition, envy, jealousy and comparison are birthed from the hunger to perform.
Who a child becomes is greater than what the child will have.

A girl from the secondary school I finished from was seen behaving like a mad person on her way to school yesterday, it was really sad.

We overload and over engaged children with too much expectations above their strengths and too much activities so that they will not be free to break things (it is a blessing to see that children break things, it shows their experiments is working).
Mental health issues in children is real. I shared a cover of a book here title "The Anxious Generation" and another book titled is "Overscheduled child".

Movement is not achievement, being loud is not high self-esteem.
Solitude is where a genius is born and boredom is were creativity is fuel.
Stop overloading and over engaging the child. They must not close from school 4pm because everyone is doing and they most not have lesson teachers because everyone is doing them. The child's best teacher is their inner being but over engaging stop it from teaching the child. The screens does not help the child to imagine things, it gives the child what to imagine. Real imagination comes from physical play.

Your children will not miss growing up to be great if they do not do what other people subject their children to daily to stop them from disturbing. Allow the child to disturb, whoever does not want it should not stay there.
