Nearly 4 years ago, I photographed Xavier Adrien for The SCAR Project: Men series. It was truly an honor to meet him and photograph him. Tragically, he passed away late last year. Today would have been his 40th birthday. Below is a beautiful remembrance from his sister Danielle:
“They say angels don’t live among us; well they lied. Xavier Gavin Adrien was born February 25, 1979. Bright, charismatic, and inspiring hardly describes what a beautiful person he was inside and out. When you met him he would simply tell you his name was Xavier but he wasn’t just Xavier. He was a father, husband, son, brother, and a friend. He was a medical doctor, medical director, anesthesia chairman, teacher, and physician of the year. He passed November 22, 2017 surrounded by loved ones at the same hospital he had started his medical career at. Although he may not physically be here, he will never be gone from our hearts and our lives. He is survived by his wife, 2 children, parents, and 6 siblings.”
Xavier, you are loved and missed.
