This week, we lost two members of our FIMRC family ❤ Elian and Claudia were participants in the Los Pipitos Program for children with disabilities at FIMRC’s Project Limón, Nicaragua. We know that many of our volunteers worked with Elian and Claudia over the years and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate their lives and to say that we will always remember their bright, warm smiles and infectious laughter. You will forever be in our hearts, Elian and Claudia!

FIMRC's Global Impact Campaign is here 🌎 Half of the world's population is without access to proper health services. We can do better. FIMRC has lost nearly 63% of its income with the pause of global travel programs. With your help, FIMRC can continue providing access to proper healthcare to communities across the globe.

Half of the world's population is without access to proper health services. We can do better.

Hey past volunteers, do you have any funny Nicaragua nature stories!? Last week we were fortunate to have Cynthia, a special education principal, volunteer her time at our therapy program. She donated teaching supplies and taught our staff new education methods. While picking up the students, Cynthia had a classic thick mud vs flip flops dilemma 😱 but with the help of some kind, strong community members she was freed! We are thankful for all of her help and love her positive attitude! 🤗

As part of our clean water and malnutrition initiatives and all thanks to the University of Arkansas we were able to provide water filters to the participants in our nutrition program! Having access to clean water decreases the chance for parasites and other disease, which are a huge contributor to malnutrition! Thanks to all who donated to our Adopt-a-Project!!

We have a few students who are mostly nonverbal so we have been teaching the class sign language. This is Joshua saying “I love you”, Jesus leaning “a” and Javier learning “azul”. Did you know that sign language differs by country?
