📣 Major breakthrough for the Sjögren’s community!

We are delighted to announce that ianalumab, a treatment under development by Novartis, has received Breakthrough Therapy designation from the FDA for Sjögren’s disease. This recognition accelerates the development and regulatory review of a treatment for a serious autoimmune disease with significant unmet medical needs.

Why it matters:

💙 Breakthrough Therapy designation is granted to treatments that show significant potential to improve care options for serious diseases.

Ianalumab has shown positive clinical results in several studies, including Phase III trials. Novartis plans to submit ianalumab for regulatory approval globally in early 2026.

🎯 If approved, ianalumab could become the first targeted treatment available for millions of people living with Sjögren’s disease.
