Give this a try. Put your hands over your head with elbows bent 90 degrees. Open and close your hands slowly for 3 minutes. Is that difficult? Painful? Getting some numbness? You may have thoracic outlet syndrome, a problem where certain blood vessels and nerves get compressed. Symptoms can progress and be quite debilitating. Don't wait to get help. It's nearly always correctable.

What is commonly referred to as the plantar fascia, is three bands of fascia on the bottom of the foot. The middle band actually is NOT part of the plantar fascia, but rather is referred to as the plantar aponeurosis. It's thicker and often more tender than the plantar fascia. When people are diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, most often what they're actually feeling is the aponeurosis or the deeper muscles, the flexor digitorum brevis and quadratus plantae.
