On invitation by initiator and National Master and holder of the National Inheritance of TCM Classical Chinese Medicine Qi Lu School, Professor Wang Xinlu, Dr Li Jie had the great honor to lecture at the “Contemporary Shanghan School Summit Forum”, on May 17th 2025 in Jinan, China.
The event was hosted by “Li Keshao Shanghan School Inheritance Base” and the “National Medicine New Path Forum (a non-profit, purely academic organization) and organized by Shandong Xinzhonglu TCM Hospital.
The forum brought together the leading top experts in the field in contemporary Shanghan studies in China, including National Master of TCM Prof. Wang Xinlu and Prof. Wang Qingguo, renowned senior TCM physicians Prof. Huang Huang, Prof. Jiang Jianguo (with whom we studied 18 years ago), Prof. Li Saimei and Prof. Liu Yingfeng, as well as overseas Shanghan expert Prof. Li Jie.
The forum was chaired by Prof. Qu Yi (Director of Shanghan studies Teaching and Research office at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) together with Prof. Li Shupei (son of Master Li Keshao and President of Shandong Xinzhonglu Hospital).
Shanghan Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders) is one of the Great Classics of TCM and is revered to as the “book of saving lives”.
Prof. Wang Xinlu emphasized:
“Our goal is singular – ‘practice TCM, study Shanghan, and cure diseases well’. The study of Shanghan lun, and indeed all of Classical Chinese Medicine and TCM, must ultimately serve the purpose of effective healing.
Shanghan Lun holts’ extraordinary significance of clinical practice; mastering it means mastering the art of curing. This forum highlights diverse schools’ interpretations of Shanghan, exploring how TCM can better treat diseases from multiple perspectives- this is the true path of learning Chinese Medicine.”
There were about 400 live attendees, among which Renate Bekker from TCM Academy Qing-Bai the Netherlands and part of Dr. Li Jie’s Shang Han Lun students from TCM school TOMO in Poland, and more than 250.000 participants followed the livestream.
