Bowl of Life Yoga At home yoga in a safe, comfortable setting. With the fireplace roaring to banish the winter blues.

Well, I am off in several days to explore London and add skills to my yoga practice.

When I am done with my second section of the program in late March I should have acquired these new skills: which I'll have to turn it into 3-4 posts as it's quite an exhaustive list. But as Martha Stewart always said, "That's a good thing". It really is, mamas and papas!

- Work that baby body of yours! Just pregnant and feeling a bit off, nauseated? We have Yoga for YOU! Ok, what I mean is, we can look at moves that helps either avoids the nausea or help soothe it. The poses aren't always moving per say - but ways to relax into certain positions that will help ease any discomforts.

- As you know, there are three trimesters during your pregnancy. The first trimesters clearly isn't the same as the other trimesters. So things means a difference in focus on poses. Thus, the yoga classes tend to be broken up per trimester. However, there are also ways to keep all mamas to be together as well.

-The moves tend to aim towards relaxation, hip openers and easing back pains. But if you already proactive in yoga, feel free to continue what you do, with more awareness of what feels right and avoid any unnecessary pressures to that growing belly.
AND! The best part, I'll be learning some prenatal massages too! Yoga and massage all in one you say? Yep, just for you.

-Lastly, there are a range of classes that can be proposed.
An example: Restorative Prenatal yoga - consist of Side-laying savasana, gentle hip openers, breathing exercises and short period of meditation.

All this is barely scratching the surfaces and I simply can not wait to learn more!!!

Namaste!

Working on the website. Going to take me a TEENY TINY bit longer than I thought. But not worried, still have to go through the Pre/post natal program before I can send it out to the public. Having the photos up and organizing them is the hardest part on there, I hope!

The end of a fun evening of the photo-shoot! I have never done anything this before and have come to the conclusion that I could never model. Nevertheless, we made some good photos and created some awesome memories!

Not only is my goal in yoga to teach and help others, but to also be environmentally and economically aware. I thrive to reuse and recycle where I can, but also buy mats and other equipment that are environmentally friendly and have been made by people who are treated properly and make a good living for themselves and their family.

If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts they can add to this post, please feel free to do so!

A fun article on Post-Christmas Yoga. Most of us eat and drink and be merry (hell ya!) a little too much over the Christmas break and most of us pay for it. So why not show some kindness to your body and start off with some gentle yoga moves post Christmas binge.

I have been wanting to explore other types of yoga, now that I have gotten my Teaching Certificate through Absolute Hot Yoga Academy. It is incredible how vast the variations are! Hatha yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Hot yoga, Restorative yoga - and on and on it goes!

Yesterday, I decided to check out my local yoga studios to see what they have to offer. Almere, a booming city outside of Amsterdam, has very little to offer at the moment. House of Gaia yoga, is the latest addition. And a very pleasant on too. I decided to start off with a yoga I am comfortable with, Hatha yoga. It was gezellig - warm, cozy, homey and simply delightful.

For those interested in the most common yoga the western world enjoys today, please check this website below.

Sighs, number 1 is a bit of a struggle for me right now. Yesterday, I was out with my son and decided to get Starbuck's Chai Tea Latte as I haven't had it in the a long time. Threw out the thing completely full. It was HORRIBLE! Too sweet and too artificial.

Curse you YOGA!

What has changed for you, better or worst, since you have started practicing Yoga?

You know, we yoga fanatics tout the benefits of yoga like it is going out of style. For most of us, it is because yoga has so profoundly changed our lives that we want to shout about it from the rooftops. Some of us actually DO shout it from the rooftops. But the truth is, yoga …

In the wide array of intriguing body contortions, many yoga poses — in Sanskrit, "asanas" — are named after animals. Some postures aptly mimic the shape of a specific animal while others are not quite so obvious. From the common Eagle Pose (shown here) to the complex Firefly Po…

For those exploring Yoga teaching for the first time:

http://www.doyouyoga.com/5-tips-for-starting-a-yoga-practice-as-a-beginner/

The number one question I get asked as a yoga teacher and practitioner is “How do I start a yoga practice?” I know so many people who want to get into yoga but who feel intimidated by studios, or overwhelmed with all the options for classes. The other problem is that many studios nowadays …

The Fish Pose - Matsyasana, which you see in the cover photo, has many benefits for the body (not just stretching and arching and pulling on your poor toes). Talking about stretching and stimulating various body parts, all at the same time! Muscles and organs of the belly, front and back of neck and the upper back muscles all get the love they need from this very pose. Never-mind the hips being pulled in all directions :D

Grumpy cat photo because I can't post any other photo on there at the moment. Silly Facebook! Proper photos to come, I hope! :P
