I ws scared.
Scared to go heavier then 60kg. My lower back always acted up so 60kg was my max. Or so I thought. Over the last 15 months I’ve worked my way up to 100kg. Didn’t think-ever - I would be able to lift as much. Yet, fast forward to today. 10 reps. 100kg. Can my ROM be better? Sure. But I’m moving that bloody barbell. Now that I know I’m capable..
We’re stronger than we think.. so go for the goal. You got it 💪🏻

It’s the season of comfort food 😍

It doesn’t have to be that difficult to get comfy, nutritious food on days when it’s rainy and cold. One of my favourites is a noodle miso soup.

Cook your noodles in a miso broth and then add some veggies. Fry some tofu in a pan and then put in a bowl. Add the broth/veggies/noodles and sprinkle some fried onions over the top.
It doesn’t get easier than this..

A little more than a year I’ve now been working with .vanr to find my max capacity in strength.
I trained frequently already, but I wanted to see how far I could get with some support from another trainer.

So far I’ve been able to increase weight in practically every exercise we’ve planned. Some are more challenging than others. And those are also just slightly more rewarding if I add yet more weight to it.

After bulking for more than a year I’m currently in a mini cut - reasons why I’ll share in another post. Strength is still increasing. Trust me, I’m far from done 😉

Wholewheat wraps with veg and protein will hit the spot.
You can use chicken or a meat substitute (I love the mince hack by ) and just cook this with some veggies. Add some spices and then fill the wraps with the mixture. Top with some shredded cheese and sauce (I used ) and you’ll be eating in no time 😋

So this year was something.
The year where I finally started my (actual) bulk. The year where I visited family in Zwitserland (long overdue). The year where I made new friends. The year where I finally took the leap and went full in on sports. The year I returned to Thailand after all these years. The year where I finally became more myself.
I’ve had ups, I’ve had downs, I’ve stumbled and fallen. But I also got back up. And I’m still here. Grateful for the lessons learned and the people in my life.
Let’s see what happens next 🤩

Working on evenings for 4 days per week means I need to be efficient with my food intake.
So nowadays I have my big meal, sort of my dinner, during lunch. And if I want to be even more efficient, I’ll mealprep. I’m not always up for it, but this is actually quite an easy setup; fill your baking tray with veg, gnocchi and perhaps a protein source and put it in the oven. And Tadaa: you have 2 or 3 meals ready to go 🍽️

Thailand recap part 1.

Just a snippet from the many classes I’ve been doing at Titan.
When I was here last (2018), I dove in head first. I was doing 4 classes (or more) per day. This time around I needed to take my own training into account as well, since I wasn’t going to give up the progress I’ve made. So I had to choose tactical. In 2018 I moved from the 360 class to cross halfway my second (and last) week and found cross challenged me more. And I kinda regretted not switching earlier. So this year I decided to focus on cross and my own training. Depending on my energy level I could then attend another class. Or 2 🙄
Most days I stuck to this rhythm; cross, breakfast, gym. Some days I did 360 as well. In between I mainly just chilled..
Monitoring my energy like this really worked, even though I still felt often an urge to do more. In the end I only had 1 day where I kinda hit a wall, and decided to do only 1 workout and nothing else. Not even my own training.

The classes were all challenging, the coaches were all really nice. The equipment is well maintained. With some tweaking I was able to do all I needed to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip; I would not have regretted staying longer if possible.
Already contemplating what I might do next year.. 😉
