Vandaag is het Le***an Visibility Day. Een dag die sinds 1990 wereldwijd aandacht vraagt voor lesbiennes en hun plek in de samenleving.🏳️🌈
📊25 jaar geleden was Nederland voorloper met het openstellen van het huwelijk voor partners van hetzelfde geslacht. Maar volgens het EenVandaag Opiniepanel ervaart nu nog maar 43% van de lhbti+’ers dat het goed gaat met acceptatie in ons land, vijf jaar geleden was dat nog 62%.
💪We zien meer weerstand, niet alleen online, in de politiek of op straat, maar ook in onze directe omgeving: bij familie, vrienden en collega’s. Steeds vaker blijkt dat Nederland minder tolerant is dan het beeld dat we graag schetsen.
Zichtbaarheid is geen gegeven. Het is een keuze om ruimte in te nemen, om te laten zien wie je bent, met al je kracht, kwetsbaarheid en authenticiteit.
❤️Vandaag, en elke dag, is het belangrijk om die ruimte te blijven claimen. Want zichtbaarheid is de eerste stap naar echte acceptatie.

Today is Le***an Visibility Day. A day that has been observed globally since 1990 to highlight le****ns and their place in society.
📈25 years ago, the Netherlands was a pioneer in opening marriage to same-sex partners. But according to the EenVandaag Opiniepanel, only 43% of LGBTI+ people now feel that acceptance in our country is good, five years ago, that was still 62%.
✊We see increasing resistance, not only online, in politics, or on the streets, but also in our immediate surroundings: among family, friends, and colleagues. More and more, it turns out that the Netherlands is less tolerant than we like to think.
Visibility is not a given. It’s a choice to take up space, to show who you are, with all your strength, vulnerability, and authenticity.
🧡Today, and every day, it’s important to keep claiming that space. Because visibility is the first step toward real acceptance.
