De werking van cryotherapie

Dit gebeurt er als ons lichaam de extreme kou in de Whole Body Cabine ervaart:
• Zenuwuiteinden in je huid (koudereceptoren) slaan alarm: je bent in levensgevaar!
• Het bloed trekt zich terug naar de vitale organen in de romp en gaat sneller stromen. De bloedtemperatuur kan wel tot 40 ˚C stijgen.
• De koortsachtige temperatuur bestrijdt effectief virussen in ons bloed, net als bij griep.
• Het lichaam brengt hormonen en enzymen in de bloedbaan om het herstel te bevorderen.
• Ook het zuurstofgehalte in het bloed stijgt door het zuurstofrijke klimaat in de cabine. Bloed dat rijk is aan zuurstof en nutriënten herstelt beschadigd weefsel sneller. Na 3 minuten verruil je de vrieskou voor kamertemperatuur. En dan?

• Bloed stroomt met hoge snelheid terug naar armen en benen; bloedvaten die mogelijk verstopt waren, kunnen door de verhoogde druk weer open gaan.
• Je verrijkte bloed voert afvalstoffen beter en sneller af.
• De productie van collageen gaat omhoog: de elasticiteit van de huid neemt toe.
• Je stofwisseling krijgt een boost.
• Eventuele stagnaties in energiebanen verdwijnen door de elektrische stroom, veroorzaakt door het grote temperatuurverschil tussen de huid en de binnenkant van het lichaam. Goed voor je organen!
