A few insights on the unique power of the tool we call "image" in art psychotherapy.
👉If other forms of therapy haven't worked for you or you are ready to try something new then art psychotherapy might be a right for you and your psychological health and wellbeing.
👉In art therapy, verbal and non-verbal elements are combined to help you with what you struggle the most, eg. anxiety, feeling not-good enough, fears and so on.
👉Art (psycho)therapy is an established psychological treatment provided by trained art therapists aiming to help people from various backgrounds and abilities to lead a more fulfilling life.
👉Generally, art psychotherapists are trained in art therapy theory, psychoanalysis, psychodynamic, person-centered counselling and body-oriented theories. Many art therapists also practice cognitive behaviour therapy as well as EMDR. Bottomline, art therapy is an integrative approach so each art therapist is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches.
