Zero calorie sweetness, what a lovely thought. That's what we all want, the sweetness of life without any consequences.

Too good to be true? Well, if it so sounds, it most likely is. Take it from someone who has tried many a thing.... the downside of artificial sweeteners is that your brain will treat them as sugar, starting insulin production regardless of not having the calories. Every choice has its consequence.

So check the ingredient in the sweetener you have, you might be surprised. the name sweet'n.... might not be so sweet in every corner.

Aspartame, additive no E951, one of the most common artificial sweeteners in the world, can be found in drinks, candy, and coffee/tea sweeteners. Did you know that it was found by accident when they were trying to create a good pesticide? Still sweet?

Tastes nice, but defeats the object of being healthy as fruits are full of sugar.

Try with low sugar fruit like berries or tomatoes, nice too. It all depends on your expectations...

This topic can get you into deep waters as it is a big industry: supplements is a billion Euro business yearly and depending on what you read, opinions change greatly. Sometimes it looks like there is no way you can survive till tomorrow if you don’t take any: everybody has something in their cupboard.

And yet, some people are totally against taking them and that the only thing you achieve with them is very expensive toilet trips.

Chia seeds, where did they come from? A few years ago nobody had heard about them, now they are everywhere.

However, these unassuming Mexica seeds have been around forever, they have just been undercover. They hold a lot of moisture, so they have been used as an additive to several foods to keep them moist and bulk them up.

If you use ratio 70g chia seeds and 330g fresh water will give you a good, quite a thick jelly. You can keep that in your fridge for a good few days as it keeps well.

Nutritional value of chia seeds is high and if you take 3 table spoons of this above jelly per day, you have come up to the RDA of Omega 3's for the day.

Now that they are so popular to be used on their own, you can buy them in Health Food stores and many supermarkets keep them in their breakfast isle too.

Sensitive throat, ears, bladder, how annoying! You may have had some courses of antibiotics for an infection is these places in your body and that has left them sensitive.
You may have a low level infection in that part, which may manifest in you needing to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Low level infections are a real health issue and even though they do not threaten your general health very much, they eat away your immune capacity.

Avoiding sugar? Replacing it with a sweetner? All the sweetness without the side effects! What could be nicer? Let's see if that is a good idea.

The most common sugar replacement is Aspartame, additive no E951. It can be found in drinks, candy, and coffee/tea sweeteners.
Studies show that those who consumed sweeteners regularly might be at greater risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.

It is not surprising as Aspartame started its life as a pesticide. It is a killing machine to little creatures of the world. My philosophical question here would be: Is it possible to kill one form of life and not be harmful to another at the same time? True to the principle of Philosophy, I will not give an answer, I leave it to your pondering. I would love to hear those below though!

In general it is regarded that Candida is primarily a women’s problem but Candida overgrowth is something that everyone can have and once a recurring problem appears, you tend to have it all over your body. Without realizing that there is a connection, there has probably already been sinusitis, bronchitis, headaches, low energy or maybe skin rashes and these are all signs of a possible Candida overgrowth.

You know what healthy food is but you don’t find it tastes good! You suspect that changing your diet would benefit your health but you have no energy nor will to start changing your habits. I know what it is like, I have been there! Low level but persistent symptoms and you go to a new therapy hoping that this is it: finally, someone who can give me my life back.
