Today I found a seagull stuck in a glue-trap 😪
At first I thought it was missing a whole wing, as one wing was completely stuck to its side due to the trap.
The trap is not visible, because I did not want to cause unnecessary stress to little "siggi" therefore I didn't take another picture, but the whole underside of the seagull was stuck to this gluey Karton, it was incapable of walking or flying.
Until this day I had never heard of this type of glue traps ! Therefore I want to create awareness as others might also not know of them and want to call everyone for help - if you see any of those glue-traps (picture 2) lying anywhere, please pick it up and throw it away and well please please don't use gluetraps to catch mice and rats....
Despite being a horrific death, that takes a very long time while the animal stuck in it is ripping off its own skin, trying to escape the trap, those traps also don't just catch mice or rats, as in this case. Many wild animals like birds, or hedgehogs f.e. get stuck in these and die a slow horrible death. 😥
Thanks so so so much to Dierenambulance Amsterdam this seagull will hopefully have a chance as they picked him/her up at my place within a few hours from me calling in 💜
