There is a substantial problem in the rural tri-state areas of North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee with compliance with the ADA. I aim to advocate and increase the social media presence of Title III (businesses) and Title II (city, county, and state) properties that need reasonable accommodations to meet compliance; and create a more inclusive area. Public accommodations are failing to meet the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Designs. With our areas being tourist destinations, we need to ensure accessibility for all of our guests. Our residents deserve equal access as provided for in the ADA. With education and advocacy, we can help to convince these organizations to meet accessibility requirements because it's the right thing to do for our fellow neighbors and friends. ADA laws were passed 32 years ago; these organizations have had plenty of time to meet the standards. Join me and others in making a lasting difference in our community. Over 60 million adults in the United States have a disability! Disability Rights Are Civil Rights! I'm a certified ADA Coordinator / ACTCP and volunteer as an ADA Coordinator for Disability Rights Advocates for Technology (DRAFT) in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm a person with disabilities, and I'm a wheelchair user. I was wounded in combat in 2004 and have worked in disability rights since 2009.
