I always ♥️♥️♥️ to see top athletes doing yoga! Metoděj Jílek, a Czech speed & inline skater, is doing yoga before his 5 km race at the World Championship Allround in Thialf, Heerenveen.
The pose is called Ardha Matsyendrasana, and is a good stretch for the muscles in the (in this case right) outer hip, thigh, and lower back. Also a good spine opener, and a nice stretch for the outside of the (in this case left) shoulder. The twist in the spine furthermore calms the nervous system, and detoxes the organs in the belly related to the digestive- and urinary system.
Every athlete should integrate yoga in their training, it keeps them healthy, makes them perform better, and helps to prevent injuries! 🧘♂️♥️🙏
