___"Where you look, there you go."___

Many years ago, Hasidic student. During class, he quoted Maimonides, who said: "Where you look, there you go."

Maimonides, considered the greatest of Jewish scholars and philosophers, dealt extensively with topics related to ethics and morality. He saw erect walking as an expression of these values, as well as a way to improve physical and mental health.

The sentence remained engraved in my memory, and from time to time it resurfaced, reminding me that when there is a goal and you don't forget it, you always strive towards it.

Recently, the sentence came to my mind in the context of my venture. AnyCan Tech.

The continuation of Maimonides' quote is: "It is fitting for a person to always walk erect, and not to walk bent over, for a bent walk is a way of laziness and fear."

In other words, erect walking is a sign of self-confidence, a sense of control, and self-respect.

Since AnyCan Tech started diving into the world of the effects of walking upright versus hunched over, I have discovered that there is a significant difference in brain function between walking upright and hunched over, including looking at a mobile device.

Studies have shown that walking upright activates certain areas of the brain significantly more than hunched over walking. These areas include:

The occipital lobe: The area responsible for vision, spatial perception, and posture.
The frontal lobe: The area responsible for planning, ex*****on, and control of movement.
The parietal lobe: The area responsible for sensation, cognition, and working memory.
The effects of hunched over walking on the body can be significant. Physically, it can lead to muscle and joint strain, posture problems, and breathing and circulation problems. Psychologically, it can lead to a decrease in self-confidence, and feelings of fatigue and nervousness.

If you do these things, you can help improve your walking and prevent health problems in the future.

+++ Grandma stories +++

Many of us were told by our grandmothers to walk tall. They would tell us that it was important to be proud and confident, and that it would help us succeed in life. Even Queen Elizabeth II, who has always been known for her regal bearing, was said to have been forced to walk with a book on her head as a child.

Today, we know that our grandmothers were right. There is a growing body of research that suggests a link between good posture and both quality of life and cognitive function.

Improved quality of life

Good posture can make us look younger, more confident, and more successful. It can also boost our self-esteem, self-image, and relationships with others.

Studies have shown that people who are more upright are perceived as being younger by up to 10 years. Another study found that people who are more upright report higher levels of self-esteem.

Improved cognitive function

Good posture also has a positive impact on our health. It improves our balance, breathing, and circulation. It can also reduce the risk of injuries, such as back pain and neck pain.

Studies have shown that people who are more upright have improved cognitive function, such as memory and attention. There is also evidence that people who are more upright have a reduced risk of neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia.

Tips for improving posture

If you want to improve your posture, here are a few tips:

+ Keep your shoulders relaxed.
++ Try to walk tall for a few minutes every day.
+++ With a little effort, you can learn to walk tall more naturally.

So, the next time your grandmother tells you to put a book on your head, don't ignore her. She knows what she's talking about.
