“This path of love doesn’t go anywhere. It just brings you more here, into the present moment, into the reality of who you already are. This path takes you out of your mind and into your heart.”
Quote by Ram Dass
To me, this is the path of yoga. A way of seeing and a practice.
Jeff Foster reminds me: “It is one thing to know who we really are when life is easy and things are going well for us. It’s another thing to remember this in the heat of the moment, when things fall apart, when life gets messy and our dreams turn to dust.”
From the first yoga class I followed in India, December 2009, I felt: this practice is going to be with me for the rest of my life.
Committed to this path that brings me more and more here, more peace and patience, more compassion and joy 🤗

“In this retreat you will re-claim your ability to withdraw from sensory distractions and tune into your peaceful inner world so that you can relax, replenish and operate with intention - avoiding the highs and lows that come with actions born out of desire and reflex.
Each day, you will have the opportunity to take part in yoga and pranayama sessions that have been specially designed to help you increase your sense of stillness and turn your focus inward. You will also be shown how to use massage, sound, essential oils, food and candles to practice bringing your full awareness to your sensory experiences.
There’ll also be plenty of time to visit the area’s tiny ancient villages, join in a ceramic workshop, and simply enjoy being our truest selves.”

Wow.... I feel so at home here. I felt it when I first came to the island in 2018. I felt: Oh this is that place, that way of life, that experience that I dreamed of since, literally, I was a little girl. I saw myself living in a very warm climate, outside in a natural environment, walking barefoot, living a simple life. I didn’t know where this place would be and what it looked like exactly. But I arrived here at this point in my life. The heat, the always feeling kind of sticky, the mosquitos feel so normal to me. This is my life now. The natural sounds of birds, sea, chicken, wind, rain on the metal roof. The space and freedom to move around. To work hard or to relax in a hammock. To swim every day, sometimes go into the jungle, or climb rocks. To do practical work, physical work, to drive a boat!
How will it be to be back in Europe? Will I get used those surroundings and circumstances quickly as well? I must admit, I wonder... I read about a ‘new normal’ that doesn’t sound normal to me at all. But I know I’ll find my way again, as soon always do. And then I hope to see you and connect with you and share that what matters to us 🥰 I’ll be teaching a Yoga Retreat in Italy 1-8 August. In these strange times with so many changes and adaptation... I am sure a retreat will be healing and a relief ❤️

This morning I meditated with these views in front and behind me. Reflecting on big themes in life, the universality of them, and my relationships to them.
At the end of sitting meditation I always bring my hands together at my heart centre (love, compassion), then to my forehead (intuition) and then I fold my upper body forward, down to the earth. My daily practice is to listen deeply to these elements, to let them guide my actions in this world. While folding forward, I say to myself: “It is not about you”, which means to me that I want to use this life for something bigger than just me, myself and I. To experience that I am part of a whole.
The pile of trash is still there, but I have dealt with some parts of it. Today I choose shoes, white foam and hard plastics. Have a beautiful day ❤️

Imagine living here... Rice paddies in front of Mountain Jerai - the mountain that is our view from the island. I think one day I should climb this mountain.

I’m in such a beautiful environment that I would love to show you and share with you. You can join me from your home, see the green scenery, the chicken passing by through the screen and hear the different birds on the background...
So far I have uploaded 2 yoga flow sessions of 25min and the mantra Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. I’m open for suggestions for new videos!
Thank you so much for your donation - it goes directly to support Pulau Bidan Eco Project, where I’m volunteering 🥰 Links:

The power of intention - quoting Dr Kamini Desai from her book ‘Yoga nidra’. What words do we say about ourselves and do we repeat? Do they reflect the direction we long long to go in?
