ATTACHMENT
I brought a lot of stuff from Holland to Thailand. Litterly and figurly.
I thought It gave me freedom to be prepared for all the what ifs . But it was actually holding me at one spot, making me think a lot and holding me back …
It’s time to say goodbye to my first house here and it’s confronting me again what letting go does to me. But real freedom is not in stuff. It just keeps you bussy, but not anywhere.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, attachment and holding on are often connected to the Metal element — the element of the lungs and large intestine. The lungs are linked to grief, breath, space and the ability to let life move through you. When the energy of the lungs becomes stuck or restricted, it can express itself as clinging, materialism, over-controlling, or difficulty letting go.
The large intestine belongs to the same element and teaches us the wisdom of release. Literally and energetically, it’s connected to letting go of what no longer serves you your “sh*t,” old emotions, old stories, old attachments.
