What do you avoid?

In yoga philosophy, these tendencies are called rāga (attachment) and dveṣa (aversion). We chase what feels good. We resist what feels uncomfortable.

But growth often lies in the friction.
In the pose we’d rather skip.
In the silence that feels too quiet.
In staying with a feeling we’d normally push away.

Notice your patterns.
Not to judge them—just to see clearly.
That’s where freedom begins.

✨ What a journey. ✨
This May, we closed the circle on another 9-month yoga teacher training—and what a group this was.

Each year brings a unique constellation of people. This one gave us deep friendships, shared growth, belly laughter, tears, transformation… even a baby(!). 💫

For 9 months, this group showed up with presence, care, curiosity, and a whole lot of heart. Together we studied, practiced, questioned, listened, supported, and taught. It was transformational work—honest, embodied, breath-centered.

Every training is its own living experience. And this one reminded us just how powerful community can be.

A free monthly circle for honest conversation on the yoga path.

This month, we’ll reflect on a theme that many of us touched on last time: compassion — especially for ourselves.

Can we stay committed to practice and still be kind to ourselves when it gets hard?
Can compassion hold space for effort, even struggle?
Where is the line between self-care and avoidance?

We’ll explore these questions together, with inspiration from Yoga Sutras 1.12 and 1.33, and our own lived experience.
