Vol trots laten we weten dat vorige week Nia, certificeerde tot BiA doula 🎉 Met haar diep invoelend vermogen, haar inzicht in de ander en rustige aanwezigheid begeleidt zij zwangeren en hun partners tijdens de zwangerschap en de bevalling in de wijde omgeving van Bussum. Op 3 verschillende momenten gedurende de opleiding tot geboorte doula vragen wij aan onze studenten om een (geschreven) evaluatie van de training, zo blijven we altijd open voor feedback en ontwikkeling. Over de jaren heen hebben we, mede hierdoor, een prachtig, uitgebreid en compleet programma ontwikkeld 😍

At 3 different moments during our doula training we ask our students for a (written) evaluation of the training, this way we always remain open for feedback and development. Over the years, partly because of this, we have developed a wonderful, comprehensive and complete programme 😍

Last week we celebrated the certification of Toni Muller of ! We are so happy to welcome her as a certified BiA doula. With her passion for birth, knowledge, experience and attentive presence she will support pregnant people and their families in Amsterdam and the wider area of Amstelveen. She specialises in supporting families where there has been a challenging time and baby has been or will be admitted to the NICU (Neonatale Intensive Care Unit) Congratulations, dear Toni! 🎂🎉

Vorige week vierden we de certificering van Toni Muller van ! We zijn zo blij om haar te verwelkomen als gecertificeerde BiA doula. Met haar passie voor geboorte, kennis, ervaring en aandachtige aanwezigheid zal zij zwangeren en hun gezinnen ondersteunen in Amsterdam en in de ruime omgeving van Amstelveen. Ze is gespecialiseerd in het ondersteunen van gezinnen waar een moeilijke start is geweest en de baby is of wordt opgenomen op de NICU (Neonatale Intensive Care Unit) Gefeliciteerd, lieve Toni! 🎂🎉

Sometimes we say things that are not necessarily the most diplomatic or ‘good for sales’, haha. But then again, it is kinda true, that the format of our doulatraining is a little crazy… you come in with some knowledge about birth (from your own interest /experience and from the required reading materials) and you come out at the other end of the intensive four day Foundation Doula Training, tumbled around and turned upside down. How that looks like is for everyone different. We see it happening time and time again - how the realisation that this role, this job, this calling, is holding a mirror that you cannot escape. The things you know about yourself and the shadow will be felt and seen - in the training and further on when you do your doula work. We believe that this is a good thing: that ongoing reflection on your actions, your believes and habits, is helpful in your growth, not only as a doula, but as a human being. Every birth, every mother, father, parent we meet and support, something is being touched in ourselves that is ready (or not so ready) to be revealed and seen. This is why we say that being a doula is lifelong process, never done learning, never done evolving. And! You’re not alone in this journey, we are right there with you.

Regelmatig houden wij open dagen, zowel online als in- person op onze fijne leslocatie in Amsterdam. Je kunt dan al je vragen rondom het doula zijn en het doula worden stellen en onderzoeken of het doulaschap bij je past. Het is ook zeker een moment om de trainers te ontmoeten en te 'proeven' aan wie wij als BiA Doula Training zijn en wat wij aanbieden. We zien je komst graag tegemoet!

De volgende Open Dagen zijn:
20 mei 2025, 20.00-21.15u online
18 juni 2025, 19.30-20.45u online

Mocht je op deze momenten niet kunnen, dan kan je altijd een telefoongesprek met een van de trainers inplannen. Stuur een mail naar: doula@biadoulatraining.com als je dit zou willen.

Zo een vreugdevol moment, wanneer een van onze doula's haar certificering behaald. Een moment om bij stil te staan en ook echt even te vieren. Van harte gefeliciteerd, Sally (.sally)!! Je portfolio was een vreugde om te lezen, en je bent een grote aanwinst als doula voor families in de regio Almere. Met je open blik, je scherpe inzicht, je warme connectie en je natuurlijk doula-zijn zullen vele zwangeren en hun partners zich veilig en gesteund voelen. Proficiat!

Where ever you go, whatever you do, you will always bring yourself. Going through the experience of birth, where the opening of heart, cervix, body and mind takes place, not only a baby will come out. This great opening, no matter how the birth unfolds, brings out what lives within. This may be Intuition, Fear, Trust, Anger, Sadness, Instinct or Strength, or…. In pregnancy be curious and really listen to what calls to you from within. 🌸🌹

Nicole (Nikki) Moran works as a researcher and advisor on Reproductive Health and Rights ánd as a Doula!
