When I do this movement, I can feel everything working together — my core, glutes, and lats holding me steady while the smaller stabilizers in my hips and shoulders keep me balanced.
It’s a reminder that real strength isn’t just about force — it’s about awareness, control, and how your whole body works together.
That’s the same principle I use in fascia stretching.

Heel-Raised Deficit Deadlift

Because of my long legs, I put plates under my heels in this variation. It changes the angle of my pull and makes the start much harder — but also more effective.

Here’s what it builds:
1️⃣ Quad strength off the floor – the hardest part of the pull.
2️⃣ Tightness and bracing – you have to stay locked in from the very bottom.
3️⃣ Positional strength for long femurs – keeps my chest up instead of folding forward.
4️⃣ Carryover to Olympic lifts & athletics – builds upright pulling strength.

👉 For someone like me, this isn’t just a “squatty deadlift.” It’s a smart accessory that makes my main pulls stronger and more efficient.
