From 8–10 May 2026, the EABP Joint Meeting took place in beautiful Bologna, bringing together members of the Forum, Council, and Board for a rich and inspiring agenda.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format, creating the opportunity for colleagues from the Secretariat to join the discussions, share about the ongoing collaboration between the Secretariat and members, and highlight the support being offered across the network. It was also a valuable moment to encourage members to promote their upcoming events and initiatives.

For members who were unable to travel, the online participation option allowed them to stay connected and engaged with the process.

The photos from these days capture the warm atmosphere, meaningful exchanges, and strong sense of community and we are happy to share some of these moments with you.

When we use humor as part of therapy, it can be a sign that some parts of us are healing. Being able to laugh about situations often shows that we are in a stronger and healthier place emotionally.

This photo reflects exactly that. The use of humor by our Executive Board shows openness, connection, and confidence, and in this sense it is a beautiful sign that the EABP is in a good place. In harmony with all the species in nature.

EABP Student Final Paper Award

This award has been presented at the EABP biennial congress since 2012.

Deadline 2026 Award: March 31st 2026

We encourage students to submit the final paper they have written at the end of their training in Body Psychotherapy. This could be a thesis, a long essay, or a case study.

We hope the submitted paper will add to the knowledge base about Body Psychotherapy or Somatic Psychology. Whilst it does not have to be a piece of original scientific research or a particular in-depth study, we are mainly looking for originality, authenticity, a personal involvement with the topic, and the integration of the author’s own clinical practice with theoretical and methodological thinking. Submissions can be oriented to any method or modality within Body Psychotherapy and Somatic Psychology.

1st Prize: Free attendance at the 2026 EABP Congress incl. three nights’ accommodation; in addition, a one-year free membership of the EABP*.

The winner will be announced in the plenum at the congress.

2nd and 3rd Prizes: One year free membership* of EABP; in addition, a one-year subscription to the IBPJ.

Prizewinners are encouraged to rework their paper into an article and submit it to the International Body Psychotherapy Journal (IBPJ).

Entries must be according to the conditions of the Journal. They go through the peer review process and are accepted only on the basis of the editors’ final approval.

If you are interested, please submit your paper by March 31st 2026. It needs to be a paper you have written since September 2023. Please submit your paper as a pdf attachment to an email to secretariat@eabp.org, stating your name and training institute.
