i always am flabbergasted by the idea that all tissue communicates and is technically speaking ‚fascia‘ so since fascia is the global organ of unity and innerness, a dynamic communication system(!) and a sensory organ in its unified, inhabited embodied being…then all that also applies to the nervous system.
so,…the thing we think of as a brain is in itself made of stuff thats also ‚a brain‘ … wait im getting dizzy 😵😃🤚🏼

Brain/CNS/PNS Continuity: “This is your brain. No, not just the yellow bulbous mass at the top of the image, but all of the tendrils that reach down and out to the very extremities of your body. It cannot be separated, but it can be forgotten and abused.

Exercise your brain by moving your body, move your brain by exercising your body.”

As long as our consciousness is present to the inner movement, time does not fall into the past, it remains present and we are present to ourselves.

Danis Bois.

Tant que notre conscience est présente au mouvement intérieur, le temps ne tombe pas dans le passé, il reste présent et nous sommes présents à nous-mêmes.

Enrollment Open 21-24 April🦚🧖🏿‍♀️🪲
Intensive Doula Immersion + 6-Month Mentorship.

Why is this a new approach to full-spectrum doula work? What competences do we develop? How will you feel both equipped to accompany not only others, but yourself?

All are invited to arrange a call to answer questions about the experience.

How does the intensive doula immersion experience works online?

After a few years of teaching this experience online, we’ve discovered that it is indeed possible to create not only interactive, engaging, adaptable learning experience where we delve into everything from anatomy, physiology, hands-on skills, meditations that develop our practices in perception, guidance based on lived stories, the culture of obstetrics and its impact on outcomes, and more … but we have also been able to create Intimacy.

This is what bonds us in this experience and allows us to create meaningful community with intimate groups of people supporting each other as we learn.

During the intensive, each participant invites a practice partner during our hands-on sessions and are guided as a way to actually live the work we do in the field as doulas, midwives, bodyworkers or what we call Guardians of Intimacy.

Many of us live under the medical myth that the heart is only a pump, an idea borne of an industrialised culture that views the body as a machine.

The heart however is so much more beautiful and fascinating than we ever could have imagined!

“Modern analysis of the heart has shown that in spite of the fact that the most powerful ventricle of the heart can shoot water six feet into the air, the amount of pressure actually needed to force the blood through the entire length of the body’s blood vessels would have to be able to lift a one hundred pound weight one mile high” - Stephen Buhner

So how does the blood move around the labyrinth-like vessels of our body?

It moves of its own accord.

You see, blood flow is not a simple stream like we once thought.

It is in fact composed of two streams, spiralling around each other much like the image of a DNA double helix, at the centre of which is a vacuum.

“Blood flow through living vessels is much more like a tornado than anything else: Such a vacuum is necessary for producing a vortex” - Stephen Buhner

How cool is that?

This spiral dance is not only found in the bloodstream, but also in the blood cell itself!

Blood cells in fact spin on their own individual axes of rotation. They are smaller spinning cells in a larger spinning vortex.

If your mind is not blown yet, let’s go back to the heart.

The heart itself has recently been discovered not to be a mass of muscle, but rather a ‘helicoidal myocardial band’ that has spiralled in upon itself, creating its unique shape and its separate chambers.

This is called the Helical Heart, and you can see doctors unravel it by searching ‘Helical Heart’ on Youtube.

Pair this with discoveries that the heart functions as an endocrine gland, has its own nervous system that makes and releases its own neurotransmitters, and emits an electromagnetic field that is far stronger than the brain’s, and we begin to move from the idea that the heart is simply a mechanical pump.

It is a spiralling organ of perception.

If that’s not beautiful, we don’t know what is.

In Xing Shen Zhuang taoist yoga we excercise the body simply by carefully stretching specific areas and relaxing corresponding areas that need no tension at a given moment. By this simple concept we ‘un-knit’ the build of habitual tensions and unprecise movement and effort patterns. Meridians are opened and detoxification processes are mobilized. Through the ages teachers and students have researched the body and have found many levels of understanding the inner interconnections. It is with the help of these fine interconnections that we can manipulate and improve the state of our physical being on such profound or essential level. The profound effect of these exercises shows eventually in the way this cultivation exercise develops ones perception to a whole new understanding of reality, and therefore a new relationship to ourselves, others and the world.
