There are so many good things coming from collaborating with .wellness as a massage therapist!
One of them is going to fabulous places to provide massages.
Today I was at Amstel Hotel.
What a beaaaautiful display this place is! I always first admire and only afterwards I get back to the purpose for which I am there.

A sign that things are working out even when I’m not taking care of it:
I like my water warm, especially in the cold season.
When I am asked if I want water people always seem to have trouble understanding drinking warm water. So when I ask for a glass of water as I like it I must be ready to explain.
Warm?!
What does it mean warm water to drink?
Do you want a tea?
How warm?
And then they go and put on the kettle while there is perfectly warm water at the tap.
I always appreciate their effort to understand and accomodate me.
Sometimes, like today morning, I say nothing about my preference in water. I order a delicious creamy croissant with amandelen, a cappuccino, and a glass of water. I don’t feel like explaining a lot. So I skip that.
When the order arrives, the glass was warm… ha?? I take a sip… the water was at peeerfect warmth.
Aaaaa! Thank you life! I am grateful for this warm umcomplicated comodity I received, wanting it and without asking for it. I am grateful for the big things that seem so little.
Thank you lady at the bar who made it perfect without even knowing it.

Enjoy your massage to the fullest and be gentle to yourself! 🫠

Allow me to expand this phrase, so you can understand how important it is to allow relaxation to continue to happen.

A deep tissue done properly will make the muscle realease tension for up to 48h after the session ended. If your muscle is busy releasing, don’t shock it with sudden contractions or long sustained tension. Otherwise it will block. 🆘😯
Who needs that? Nobody.
So, there you go.
Take the day off.

Breathe deep. Till the end. Make it loud. Enjoy the fun.

I noticed in most of my massage clients that their breathing is shallow. Short. Shy. Almost inexistent.
So I incorporate deep breathing into the session.
How does each set of deep breaths help?

1st set, at the very beginning of the massage. It brings the mind where the body is… in a serene place where the receiver can relax while it is being taken care of => central nervous system receives the message that all is safe. Muscles relax.
I am allowed to enter and guide this somatic experience.

2nd set.
I ask the receiver to think about what they want to let go of. I invite them to release that which no longer serves with strong sighs for as long as they need to.
Central nervous system receives the message of cleaning and makes space for new behaviour.

3rd set
I ask the receiver to think about whatever they want more in their life. I invite them to inhale the energy of that as deep as possible. Fill up their lungs, fill up the belly, fill up their head and legs and toes and arms till the tip of their fingers. Fill up every cell of their body with the energy of that which they want more in their life.
It works like a charm, as it creates the idea that good things happen to those who ask for them.
Central nervous system starts trusting the future.

4th set
At the end of the session I invite them to take a deep soothing breath, like a hug to themselves. Because they deserve it.
They deserve it every day, my practice is just a reminder.
The mind is fresh, spacious, creative. The receiver is extremely open to self kindness and therefore to others.
What a wonderful life again!

Dear all! As you know, I have been in a long break from work since I became a mother. I have been a happy momma stayin’ at home with her cute cub. I’m so blessed! Thank you, life! 💓
As much as I enjoy this period I also miss being the hug dealer of Amsterdam, doing what I am supposed to do… having clients on a regular basis, having a flow in my work agenda, learning and improving in the knowledge of healing and consensual touch.
I did my best to restart work at home, where I always had my practice, buuuuuut I can’t work from home anymore. Not with my child around and all the new toys and chairs and all that follows into a house after the baby comes.
So I am actively looking for work as a professional cuddler and massage therapist freelancer. Do you know a place where I can take my massage and cuddling skills to be continued?
I would love a working environment where I can learn from my colleagues and share my knowledge as well. A place where clients come for a massage and they leave soothed and restored.
If you can recommend me a nice place to send my CV to, I will highly appreciate it. And if something good will come out of it, I’ll make sure to compensate you with a nice massage.

Can you tap into the energy before massage? These few minutes just before it starts… When all is tensed but there is a certain soothing energy in the air, because you know it’s time to relax. And you will be cared for and pampered. Stretched and pressed on, where it hurts the best! Take a deep breath and sigh it out. It’s your time!
