Have you ever heard of the Chinese medicine concept of Jing before❓

Jing, also called Essence, is a Chinese Medicine term for the substance that is responsible for our growth, our development, our fertility and for the ageing of our bodies. 💪

In Chinese medicine, our fertility and reproductive function are determined by the strength of our Jing! 🤰

Although we cannot create Jing, there are many ways that it can be preserved and strengthened including quality nutrition! 🥣

We would also love to share with you a great Jing stock recipe from one of our Clinic Directors, Donna, that will help preserve and strengthen your Jing.

JING STOCK🍲
Place 6-8 (organic of free range) skinned drumsticks in a pressure cooker with:
2-3 sticks of celery
1-2 carrots
4 slices of fresh ginger
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt

In a pressure cooker fill to the max line with filtered water. (If you don't have a pressure cooker it will definitely need longer - and you'll need cut the bones before you start cooking).
Bring to boil then turn down the heat and cook for at least 4 hours.
Allow to cool a little.
Open and check water level and add more water if necessary.
If the bones are soft enough, break them open with a knife. If not cook again for another few hours and try again.
Cook the broth for about 8-12 hrs, depending on how long it takes for the bones to soften.
The broth should become dark in colour as it cooks. Make sure the marrow mixes into the water.
You will notice a definite change in the smell of the broth once the marrow is released.
Once the bones are soft & marrow released - you can strain off the liquid and set aside to use on its own or as a base for a meal.
Keep the meat off the bones and add back to the broth if you would like. It becomes a little tough...but sometimes it's good to have the texture when you're eating lots of soup.

To make it into a meal, you can add things like:
Rice, noodles, chickpeas, fresh carrots and celery, broccoli, lentils….pretty much anything you like!

Support for IVF patients is Necessary During and After the cycle.
Anxiety and IVF is something we have talked about before. It's REAL, and it's understandable, there is so much at stake. Each stage is an unknown, and the wait to see how you are responding throughout is extremely stressful.
Our colleagues at Western Sydney university have previously published results from studies of anxiety in IVF patients in 16 different clinics in Australia and NZ. Their findings confirmed something we see everyday ...... patients report that they feel less anxiety, discomfort, moodiness and tiredness during the IVF cycle - which is good news 😊.
BUT the researchers also found that anxiety didn't just magically disappear at the end of the cycle. These women experienced reduced emotional well‐being 3 months following the IVF cycle highlighting a need for ongoing support.
Please take steps to use whatever supports work for you, AFTER (as well as DURING) your IVF cycle, no matter the outcome.
