The rule isn’t “skip the pastry.”
The rule is: don’t pick the wrong one.
I was at a cafe in my luteal phase. Starving. Lunch was 2 hours away.
4 pastries. 4 completely different glucose responses.
Most people would have grabbed the sweet one. (I almost grabbed the bocadillo — my favorite.)
But in luteal, that one decision = the difference between steady energy and a 5pm crash with cravings, mood swings, and a worse PMS week.
